what i dislike the most about warcraft 3 custom maps?

zoo tycoon is a pc game where you ubild your own zoofill it with animals etc. The "fish aquerium" game your thinking of i think is insaniquarium where you grow your fish and kill aliens that come at random times.

I know what Zoo Tycoon is.. I had the Demo.
I was wondering what a cadeogry was.

well... it was just an example lol. even if i were to start making the map i would know were to begin. there would be probly like 200 triggers to make just to get the game going but i do have an idea for an awsome new make though. Its a recreation of an awsome rare gameplay type game called sacrifice. have any of you played it?


if you did then you would agree with me that making that game would be awsome.

• Bad Terrain
• Maps with triggers that leak where it really should not (TDs/Mauls that leak with the spawn)
• Hideous Models. Sometimes a simple recolor of a Blizzard model is best.
• Maps in German or Russian. 'Nuff said...
• Games where a player has a massive advantage over another (E.g. an uber race, or perhaps an uber hero in a loap or something. I even hate being that uber person because I don't have a challenge.
• Custom Loading Screens. They take up more space than they are worth.
• Repetitive games. I tend to get bored easily with these.
• Games that lack anything. For example custom RTSes that have huge maps made for massive battles but it takes a minute to make a single unit.
• Bugs that give a player a massive advantage over others that lack that knowledge
• Games that have a crappy ending. I don't want to play a game for an hour or two and then get to the ending boss that dies after 15 seconds...
• Loaps that lack originality. Thats pretty much all of them, unless they have something unique and fun about them.
• AoSes. I just find it a rather boring genre.

I hate maps with cheats in it (that everyone seems to know but me), maps with one or two imba heroes that everyone who has played it before knows, so they use it and basically kill everyone and also boring games (where nothing happens until maybe the last minute or two).

Not forgetting DotA of course. That is just terrible for the only reason that it is played to much.

then they have to stay in 1 room while a bunch of creeps come hutling through the doors and theyve gotta defend themselves and hel peach other from dying

has any 1 heard a game like that

i did heard of a game like that, its called zombie servival. its prity good.

I have an awsome idea by the way for a never befor done map!!!!

Its a recreation of an awsome one of its kind game called sacrifice.

GAMEPLAY: the gameplay of sacrifice in a regular skurmish is quit simple.

all players have a very important building called an alter. this alter servers 3 important perpuses. 1 it can revive your wizerd 2 you can harvest souls and 3 it helps you stay in the game.

wizerds: wizerds are you. the main people of the action. wizerds can do 5powerful things. 1 they can cast offensive spells like fire bolt. 2 they can summen creatures. 3 they can desacrate enemy players alters(other words destory their alter to beat the player) 4 harvest souls. 5 cunstruct buildings.


souls: souls are 1 of the 2 main and important resurcess. souls are needed to summen creatures. the powerful the creature is the more souls they need to summen. there are 2 type of souls. 1 is blue wich can be used automaticly and red souls witch need to be purified befor able to be used. blue souls come form units that you have summend. red souls come from your enemy's creatures.

creatures. creatures are your basic army. the higher lvl your wizerd is the more powerful creatures you can summen. there are 3 types of creatures. 1 ground units. 2 air units. 3 mana drawers.


mana gysers: mana gysers are gyersers that when near can replenish mana.
this is the 2 most important resource in the game. mana gyersers can be used by anyone, but in order to keep it for yourself youl need to make a well.
this structure keeps enemy units from being able to use them. now your thinking, so when i run out of mana i will have to come to the well to replenish? well no you dont. when you have a well you can summen creatures called mana drawers. these drawers can tap mana from the wells. the more mana drawers and wells you have in control the more mana you regenarate.


main objectives: the main objectives is to elimanate your oponent by desacrating(destroying) their alter befor they can do the same to yours.
to desacrate an alter you must sacrifice one of your creatures. once done witchdoctors will apear and will do the ritual. it takes some time to be complete. The only problem is that the wizerd can easy inturupt the ritual so you need to gaurd your witchdoctors. If all goes well then you will destroy the enemies alter and the wizerd will be banished!!! unable to ressurect.

Muchalive, I've played that game. I bought it on the grounds that any game with Tim Curry doing voice work has to be pretty rad, and I was correct. Of course, a lot of the awesomeness of the game was because of the excellent voice acting, the well-written storyline, and the way players could switch between gods over the course of the campaign.

I would imagine you could use the Warcraft races for any four of the gods. The Night Elves would be an obvious choice for Persephone, and the Undead for Charnel, though I don't know who would best fit James, Stratos or Pyro. Wizards could be handled with heroes, and their summoned creatures with custom units. The custom units would have to drop some kind of one-use item when they died, that could be used to summon another unit, and that would serve as a "soul". Not sure how you would handle the creatures that need 2 or more souls to be summoned, though...

I suggest you make a thread about it in the "Member's Projects", and see what happens.

You probably havent heard of it and you probably just think im advertising it but its called troll invasion. You can find it on http://world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/. Basicaly its a hero defence slash td with a huge twist. It keeps getting harder untill you die bassicaly unless you go on a quest do defeat the final boss. Its a very unique game and i recomend at least 5 people playing. You'll have to play it to truely see its true fun. Its not really a strait hero defence or a td but both combined with some elements of an rpg and vamparism. I think its what your looking for anyway.
