What pet would you want

I made a Pet system for my RPG, but yet again I'm out of ideas for pets. Should I make them choosable, default to the hero's type, and what pets should I include?

Hmm, a bear is too generic but it can do for now.

I'm looking for pet that have strengths as well as weaknesses.

Example: A butterfly can have high evasion and move speed, but low health and damage.

But anyway , seeing a 'Furbolg' as a pet would be cool , and a 'Timber Wolf'.

Furbolg - Medium health , chance for critical.
Timber Wolf - Medium health , high MS , average damage.

I was thinking on pets like Dragons, Mountain Giants, Giant spiders...

A small cute pink pet that transforms a dangerious aggressive pet in combat. XD
Or maybe you should create a system that you tame your animal when they baby, than when you level up it levels up too and gains new abilities. I love pets.

I kind of got the idea from a friend. Each pet seems week, but as they level they grow stronger, and each pet has a great strength and provdes a bonus to the owner, but they also each have a weakness.

The Porcupine and mosquito could work. I could even make the mosquito a stackable unit, allowing 3 or so of them.

Flying sheep - has high movespeed, high % chance to block damage, no damage at all. Also it has a skill. Flyffy - The sheep fluffs its wool, making it stronger, increases % chance to block..

Child - your very own packmule . has low damage, low life, moderate-high movespeed and moderate attackspeed. But has 15 item slots ( I believe its easy to make ). Also has Jump - 500 range blink )

It has to have some damage, or it can't stay in place. My system makes a fully automated pet.

Since it hasn't been suggested yet-

Shade. It's strength is that it takes less damage from physical attacks and has powerful spells, but is weak to spells and is unable to do practical physical damage.

you could make a pet that advances based on the actions of the hero. I dunno how your map works, but it would be cool for a pet to reflect the hero. After using so many cold spells for example, your pet would eventually grow into something cold. Physical spells makes it something that has high health and high damage but no spells. Or something to that degree.

dog - fast movespeed moderate attack has the bark skill which temporarily lowers defense
killer bunny - slowish-moderate movespeed and moderate-high damage with a jump spell where he causes damage where he lands
Horse - really high movespeed, medium - low damage, moderate health, and has mount ability where u can ride him for faster movespeed (but cant attack on him/her cuz ur not a knight )
