Well I imagine it closes on you, for some reason doesn't have a blocked mechanism, and then it closes.

I used to work in a warehouse and got my foot stuck in the door once when I tried to slide under it. Had to wait like half an hour for someone to come open it again.

I for one would pretty much assume that a paramedic station has those sensors put into the doors, it would be really ironic if they had a deathtrap there and new about it

From the article I get it as the door was already closed and that she tried to get under it, that would explain why the sensors where not working if there was any
