Zeus's Lightning bolt spell?

How do I make a clone ability like Zeus's lightning ability? Not his ultimate but his Lightning Bolt ability I believe that does 350 damage at level 4.

Its similar to Monsoon but its not monsoon.

Remember, Not everybody plays dota.

Make a flying dummy unit above the target units head cast chain lightning with no bounces on them, If I remember the spell your talking about.

Sorry I assume that everyone here knows / played Dota before. Let me elaborate:

the lightning bolt is a spell that comes from the sky that shoots down on a target enemy unit. I don't know any pre-made spells that has a lightning shooting from the sky besides monsoon. Monsoon is not that ability I'm looking for as its flat and doesn't have any SKY-to-Earth artwork animation.

Anyways, Did I awnser your question, or Do I need to post the triggers?

One Thing, You have to set the Bounces to 0, not 1, by using Shift.

You can use a trigger to place the lighting doodad on the target then destroy it. Just use an ability that does the damage you want, any ability, remove it's missile art, then make a trigger the goes, even a unit casts an ability, condition spell being casted = to your spell, wait .5, effect make special effect lightning bolt on targeted unit of abilty beining casted, wait .5, remove last special effect.

u can create it easily by editing the dummy unit's art - projectile spawn Z
lets say u set its art - projectile spawn Z to 2000, then all projectile released from that unit will come from 2000 range above, making it like falling from the sky

now u have ur dummy unit, create a trigger that spawns that unit then give it chain lightning ability then order that unit to cast chain lightning on the target

dudes! its alot more simple than what you are trying to do (if its the abillity i think it is(im really tired )) but make a storm bolt abillity, set missile speed to 10000, set no missle model and make stun to 0.01. then Art - Target: Monsoon. and then specify your dmg ^^

then the damage it does would be reducedby armor and not magic reduction.

he wants it to be MAGIC BASED.

he never said anything about that? and he asked for the dota thing. and that is how they made it in dota (at least 6.51). or maybe its based on firebolt with the same concept i wrote up.

dude RueK, storm bolt IS MAGIC, its not going to ignore the magic reduction <yes its just a hammer smashing into someone's face but its still a "spell" and in wc3 terms, that means that it will deal "spell" damage which has the same reductions as "magic" damage>

and seeing how zues ministuns the target anyways, i bet it was done the same way
