Double attack

I somewhat remember having read somewhere that you can make a unit attack twice when tinkering with Orb abilities somehow, if that is true, what exactly has to be done?

When a unit attacks, create a dummy unit and order dummy unit to attack the attacked unit. That should work. Hope I helped.:thup:

Use Orb of Lightning (New) - (it's an item ability). When done fixing the stats for your extra attack, you'll have to add a second spell to the Orb of Lightning, which is based off Searing Arrows. Do that and you'll have your extra attack.

I hate to resurrect this but I'm not quite sure exactly what you mean. I'm trying to create a chance on attack ability to attack again with playing that units animation for attacking again. I had an idea for a translucent unit that looks like the attacking unit to appear and attack as well but it would be even better if I could just get the unit to attack twice quickly. How could I go about doing this.

When you say use Orb of Lightning to fix the stats for the extra attack do you mean setting the damage to a number you want for the damage? If I wanted to instead have it do the same damage as the attacking unit has attack damage how would I then go about that? And how do you add a second spell to Orb of Lightning?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :D

Do what he said and order the guy with the ability to play his attack animation again


EDIT: and just make a if/then/else and for the condition make it choose a number between 1 and 100 and if that number equals 25 or less (this is the chance to hit) then make the dummy unit and order it to attack and do what I said above the edit.

For ranged units better use Orb ability (Lightning, Slow, etc..) plus a modified Searing Arrows ability. Set the Orb's ability to the new searing arrows. On the searing arrows set the missile/speed to the unit's attack, bonus damage to 0.
Think that's how Weaver's geminate attack is made in DotA. I'm though not sure if that'd play the attack animation once again.

But for melee units that method would just make them do double damage (like.. crit strike but without the red text)

Keep in mind that last time I tested this was over a year ago and.. maybe something's changed (or I don't remember it correctly :p).
