Hello! When i test my map on WE, it always freezes up, like... there is no delay, then suddenly, it freezes and you cant do crap at all, i got to just exit out of Wc3.

So i decided that i needed to find out what was causing this. So i delete most of my triggers (Disabled and Initically Turned Off) and tested my map, and it still lags/freezes.

My map isnt all that big, its 5.44 MB.

Here is also a list of my object data that might be causing this.

Also, i have edited all the standard things as well.

Here is a list of things i have, which might or might not help
1. I am using NewGen
2. I am on a good gaming computer
3. I have pretty good network/internet
4. I have reinstalled wc3

17. Custom Destructibles = 0 Standard, 1 Custom
18. Custom Doodads = 0 Standard, 5 Custom
19. Custom Abilities = 335 Standard, 38 Custom
20. Custom Buffs/Effects= 2 Standard, 77 Custom
21. Custom Upgrades 54 Standard, 100 Custom

I am not sure what is causing my map to freeze up.

Well, I installed NewGen on my laptop not too long ago (vista) and I tested a map, and whenever I enlarged or messed with the window, it crashed. So, when it crashes, are you messing with your window or clicking "enlarge"?

5.44MB not big my ass! Rofl dude thats past the Battle.net limit, and of course it will lag, so many custom shit.. How many models do you HAVE in there?(imported)

That many triggers I dont think would make that big of a toll..

But seriously over 5MB is just way too much, you wouldnt even be able to take it to battle.net.

Seriously if your using custom models, if you actually need a model, then use it, if its just cool and extra and you could use something else like a darker footman then delete it.. Seriously it takes a big toll on your map. Like if you have 12 human factions, you dont need 12 custom models of diff footman, you can use the same model, and darken it or something.

Also after you do this, try using the wc3 optimizer, it will take 12% of it off, which isnt much

yeah i did that before, but then i didnt do that, so that doesnt have anything to do with it.

Yeah ill use that once my map is done

So.. anything else? I mean.. i prob have trigger leaks, but, since i deleted all of my triggers, and it still froze, i dont think that is the factor here.

So any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you hosted this map with 5MB on battle.net as in pple joined? Because there is a limit.. 4MB I believe

But seriously 5MB is way to high for any map unless its a campaign x.x

It's most likely the doodads...
The customs don't freeze up the map.
Try reducing the doodads, and see if it still happens.

Hey, lol my map's 6MB, it works fine when I try it out. I don't even have a good computer. Haha, I'm using a family computer (which is like filled to the brim with crap). So it's not the size...

P.S. Is there anyway I could use map optimizer to reduce it to battlenet limit? o.0

The customs don't freeze up the map.
Try reducing the doodads, and see if it still happens.

Hey, lol my map's 6MB, it works fine when I try it out. I don't even have a good computer. Haha, I'm using a family computer (which is like filled to the brim with crap). So it's not the size...

P.S. Is there anyway I could use map optimizer to reduce it to battlenet limit? o.0

is there a bnet limit? I can play my map on bnet though....
I dont know how much optimizer is going to reduce

That's a lot of preplaced units. Where and when does your map lag anyway?

Well, my friend's map had like the same number of custom units as you and his map was, i think, 4MB which is still pretty big. And it worked fine.

It's probably the combination of lots of custom units and lots of triggers. Try reducing 1 of those 2?

Oh, and try adding like a 10 second pause at the beginning to let the map settle? They did that in Island Defense I think....

Its random. Sometimes i can play for 10 mins, and then it freezes, and sometimes 5 seconds. Its really odd.... and random.

Ive tried.

I have done that, but the problem is, i dont have any lag at all, it just freezes.

Some tutorials says putting the cinematics on in the beginning can help reduce the lag.

Oh I just searched this up. Do you have any units that spawn?
'Cause if lots of units are spawned really close together, it freezes the map and depending on how much units were spawned, could last from 2 - 3 seconds to minutes.

Yes i do have them that spawn, but i disabbled all my triggers, so they dont spawn.
