    Scary.
Ever tried openSuse 11.2? I used Kubuntu for 9 months now and I was astonished when I tried out the new openSuse :O
    I'm stalking you ;P
    Kinda creepy, huh?

In fact, you were talking about problems with Windows, so I thought I'd :)D) just look what ye were talkin'bout : ) I love talking about Windows' problems, too. There's so many of them you never run out of conversation material.
In fact, after changing my motherboard, my windows stopped working completely. Suse 11.1 was able to be brought to work again - though I just upgraded to 11.2 since I forgot my root password and was too lazy to bypass security.
"where a and b are non-imaginary numbers (belong to (cba to find that neat symbol, but I think it means 'belong to' ^_^) R) and a != b"

    lol.
    if a,b e R, they are non-imaginary by definition :D e means element of.
    |I| for the interval I ]a,b[ is either infinitive or 0 taken you use any basic set G that contains at least the real numbers (a,b e G, too)
It was something about constructing a new real from two reals that are part of the interval:
    r1,r2 e I
r3: take r1, append 'arbitrary' number of 0s, append r2
this r3 will still be in the interval, so you can use it again to craft a new number with r1 using the same scheme. And you can use that number again to craft a new one and another and again etc etc.
Repeat ad infinitum, hence reals are uncountable.

    For the proof of 1 = 0.999...
I'd (only for you) proof it like this:
    assume 1 = 0.999... + x
    x = 1 - 0.999... = 0.00000000............ = 0
Not sure on whether this is a valid proof or not though.
    best wishes, Serra
:D Well, I guess that's the pain of using windows. I need windows for playing games though. Virtual machine didn't work that good and wine sucks.

It works when I try on another computer though.
Did I tell you that I have Windows? I'm having problems installing Windows. I get a BSOD >.< Also, me and blood got this great map idea for SC2. Got any projects for SC2? Got any projects at all? I can't wait for the SC2 editor!
Oh snap. Oh well, it's okay I guess. I'll just secretly hate the fact that 0.999... = 1, although I have to admit it's true.
I never said it was valid.
    ----
What is the highest float number(like 0.999) that is lower than 1?

It can't be 0.99 since 0.999 is bigger than 0.99. It can't be 0.999 since 0.9999 is bigger than 0.999.

You can always add a nine to the end and the number gets bigger...

    Always? You can't add 9 to 0.999... therefore 0.999... is the biggest number smaller than 1. 0.999... < 1 and 0.999 = 1 therefore 0.999... < 0.999...

    Also, "Age: 11"?
Ok, atleast now I know that you can make fun of this name as well :D Good to know.

Btw, have you seen the ring ?
Nice actually I failed at doing my germany homework, but I finally got a new nick name for games.
Say hello to Banelord, Lord Bane or just Bane... which one should I pick ? (help me!)
Well, it works on my computer too, but it's making it work between several computers that is the fun part. Anyway, I also got a problem with sending and listening. I'm working on it though.

On a related matter, do you know a function to shutdown the computer? Like... os.shutdown() or something.
Well, I just had the server on my brother's computer and client on mine. Both connect to a socket on his computer. The client a loop that asks for input, the input is sent to the socket and the server picks it up.
    Long time no see.

I'm learning python sockets, I successfully made a one-way chat to my brother's computer, now I just have to make it two-way which is turning out to be much harder.
Yeh. I... uh... It happens when I accidentally click X and have to retype the entire thing. XD

How come you're so into recipes lately? Never saw this much interest in this topic in the old days of TH.net
  • Monovertex Monovertex:
Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am not big on the recipes I am just promoting them - I use the site as a practice place promoting stuff

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.
  • The Helper The Helper:
You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
