300 - The Battle of the Hot Gates

Okay now the first thing I am gonna say is this:
THIS MAP IS NOT A REMAKE OF THE MAP JOSEPHIRON MADE. THE MAP HE MADE IS A WONDERFUL MAP SO THERE IS NO REASON FOR ME TO REMAKE IT.

Okay now that you understand that I hope I won't get any people yelling at me for this map...

The basic idea of this is that you are the Spartans (there will be 5-6 players) and you have to defend against waves of Persian forces. This is the basic gaem outline:
1. At the beginning of the game you get a 30-60 second grace period (still decided which it should be)
2. There will be a message displayed (ie. Finally! The Persians!)
3. For 10 minutes creeps will periodically spawn and attack your units. However as the minutes in a level move on, the units upgrade (ie. after 5 mins your Persian Standard is also accompanied by a Persian Bowmen, and at 7 mins they are both accompanied by Persian Spearmen, etc.)
4. When you have successfully defended yourself for 10 minutes you will get a 2 min grace period, in which you can kill all remaining mobs before the next wave (unless you are jsut using your heroes and you have a massive creep backup)
5. The next wave will spawn, again for 10 minutes but will be more advanced (ie. Instead of Persian Standards you fight the Persian Immortals)
6. When wave 2 is finished you get a 3 min grace period and then bonus level!!!!
7. Bonus Level: You will have Ephialtes walking through the map when he hits the middle point he will become vulnerable. If you kill him, Persians don't have a second spawn in the final round (logically because they never got told about the secret path.)
8. The final level starts and you have to face EVERYTHING you did from the beginning of the game...only in much larger numbers. However there is a twist. Xerxes will also spawn, and if you happen to kill him all enemy units stop spawning, and all ones on the map get their attack and defence decreased by 50% (I mean they just saw their God-King get slaughtered what do you expect :p) and finally when you kill all of those creeps...TA-DA!!! You win.
9. If you finish the game with at least 50+ Spartans (all your allies units + yours) then you go to Bonus Levels. Each Bonus Level will be unique, and hopefully funny.

It seems as if the map will lag alot due to the numbers of them compacted in a small area. And judging from the "High Upkeep" text on the top right, it might be wise to take off the food required :)

You might want to reconsider the terraining. I know it's at 100% but if you're gonna recreate that scenario then you might want to make the map look like the actual terrain of Thermapyloe. It's a little bland. It needs more umf. Also, this is called "The Battle of the Hot Gates", where are the gates? What are the gates and what do they do? The title makes it sound like the game has a small storyline to it. Either change the title or make a nice little cinema. How many levels do you plan on making? If you make a lot then you are going to want some diversity in the levels. Maybe, add a small bonus level every 5 levels so your heros can get some gold for some items. You might want to think about putting in a leaderboard to see who has the most kills. It adds a competitve edge amoung allies. This is just my opinion and I'm just trying to give you some construtive criticism. You don't have to do these things if you don't wanna.

The word "Thermopylae", when translated from Greek to English, literally means "hot gates"; it was named for the narrowness of the pass, and the presence of hot springs nearby. (Which I wish they had included in the movie; clouds of steam drifting from the springs could have added just that much more atmosphere to the camp scenes, even if they would have obscured the battle scenes.)

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
