Abilities in MPQ

Im trying to make an ability similar to Starfall but too different to be able to just simply base it off the ability and so I got an MPQ editor and I'm looking for the jass of that spell so I can edit that instead. The problem is I have absolutely no idea where it is, I did a search through blizzard.j and common.j for "Starfall" and then its rawcode with no luck. So can anyone help?

I tried making it in jass but it didn't work at all so I thought it would probably be much easier to just find the code for Starfall and edit that.

You can't find them. You must trigger it yourself, there is no way to extract them.

Really no way. If you think there are, tell me how they made the Units invisible without a function that isn't in .j files and in .txt files (Good luck..).

Starfall uses a trigger for each unit if you wanted to know it with its own timer, it is why it lags a little when it is casted.

it exists, but what makes you think you can find it and read it in the first place? blizzard spells aren't made in jass. they are a part of the game engine which isn't even open source.

I've finally made a working version. The damage is at the wrong time and I used a dummy unit with a special effect model instead of an effect so I could use a generic expiration timer to handle them easier but it works at least. Thanks for all your help.

It is in C++.

common.j just contains all the JASS functions. blizzard.j contains functions that use common.j, you aren't going to find spells there.

It is in C++.

But it isn't open source, which means if you edit it, that violates one rule or another.
