ChainFrost- Untargeted

I'm trying to create something similar to a "ChainFrost" spell (found in DotA)
It's a projectile spell that moves slowly and 'Bounces' off units..

Sure, it sounds easy (Sounded easy to me, till I tried it)

But the catch it, you can't 'select' your target on the initial cast.
You cast a spell, the projectile comes from you and flies in the direction you are facing until it hits a unit.

And from there on, bounces.

I don't know why I can't seem to do this, lol.

Anyone mind pointing me in the right direction?
My mind's blank on this.. =/

umm... Tinki3 has a chain frost spell, search it in the Spells Forum.

As for the target, just pick a random unit within range when u cast it.

I don't want it to pick a random unit =/
It has to be the first unit the projectile *hits* that becomes the initial target.

Hell, the projectile could even go through the whole spell without bouncing if it hits nothing, lol

That's part of what I can't make happen =(

Create a dummy on cast which moves in the direction of which the caster is facing, for every x seconds, check if anyone is in the range of the dummy.
If there is then order the dummy to cast Tinki3's chain frost and remove the dummy?

Makes me feel kinda' bad =/

Easy.

Send missile out in unit facing on cast, enumerate until it reaches 500 range, if so without a target. Tad kaboom. Destroy spell.

If a target is found, proceed with normal Chain Frost actions.
