.:: Custom Unit To Burrow ::.

The Problem i am having :banghead: is that i am unable to make a custom unit burrow like that of the undead's 'Crypt Fiend' and unburrow back with relative health and mana.


I have tried to make my custom unit, 'Trap Door Spider' use the crypt fiends ability however the problem occurs that once the ability is used the Trap Door Spider is not replaced by that of a Burrowed Crypt Fiend, but instead of that of an idol Trap Door Spider, with no abilities and gains the buff invisibility


Is there anyone out there who can help my Trap Door Spider burrow, and unborrow with the same health?.

P.S. I Also tried triggers (attatched .JPEG however the same result occurs)

Why do you have to use triggers?
Why not use the default ability?
It's easier anyway.

What did you do to the 'replacement unit' that you suspect might cause the problem?

It needs a Morph animation and an alternate animation.

The stand alternate is that thing on the ground (Crypt Fiend model). Since your unit doesn't have those animations, it just becomes invisible.

i think it doesnt burrow...because the unit u used has no burrow animation like crypt fiend

I think i know what your getting at, but could you ellaborate a bit more please. The unit does go invisible, but he loses all options of Unburrowing and attacking, ect.

How can i make it so that the invisible unit can "unborrow" or come out of invis. - also change the art work.

Use the default Burrow ability.
Solves all question.

Bear Form Failed D=

try changing it to "bear form"
no triggers needed

I tried to use bear form as a means to burrow my Trap Door Spider, by making the alternate unit a "Burrowed Carrion Beatle", and the normal unit my Trap Door Spider, however this did not work as i had hoped. :banghead:

Resultant:
Once i activated this ability, the animation of the Trap Door Spider remained behind, however the shadow of the Spider was allowed to move and activate abilities ect (basically just sheding the Spider's animation).

How do i input the animation of a burrowed Crypt Fiend as my alternate form, and my Trap Door Spider as a normal form? :confused:

would it work to use gargoyls stoneform and change model and add permanent invisible?

Why don't you base it off the Crypt fiends burrow, then create a custom crypt fiend called "burrowed trap door spider".

Then, under "art - required animation names" put "alternate". Give the burrowed trap door spider the same health, with the same burrow ability.

The burrow ability must have the original spider as the "Data - normal form unit" and in the "Data - alternate form unit" must be your burrowed spider.

There might not be a morph animation, because the original might not have a "morph" animation. You could put the "Impale dust" under the "Art - caster" in your animation.

Basically, you gotta have a custom burrow ability that switches between two trap door spiders, a burrowed one and a normal one.

The burrowed one must have "Art - required animation names: alternate" and must have either the crypt fiend or carrion beetle or any other unit with the burrow ability's model.

This should help, even if it's a bit confusing. If you don't understand, please tell me. :D

EDIT: I forget: give the burrowed one the "permanent invisibility" and set "attacks enabled" to none.

Thank You everyone for your assistance and help,

after much fiddling and suggested idea's i have formulated my own way of creating an effective burrowed unit.

Code:
Burrow/Unburrow [Trap Door Spider]

Events
Unit - A unit Begins casting an ability
Conditions
Actions
[B]If[/B] ((Ability being cast) Equal to Trigger [Trap Door Spider]) 
[B]then[/B] do (Unit - [COLOR="Red"]Replace[/COLOR] (Triggering unit) with a Burrowed Trap Door Spider using The old unit's relative life and mana) 
[B]else[/B] do (Do nothing)

I'm still fine tuning a few things

1). Game: Cool downs used previously (because a new unit is effectively created)
2). Art: Burrowing dust/sand to flick into air
3). Art: Whilst burrowed i would like that patch of dirt as a art for the burrowed unit.

What?
I was implying that you don't need so much triggerings and stuffs, while you can just use the basic default "Burrow" ability.
It burrows and it gives invisibility, just like you wanted.

EDIT:
It's not that I hate -reps, I just hate people implying that I am wrong when my words/actions are acceptable.
