Heroes and Gold

I'm trying to make an ability where whenever this hero kills another, he gains extra gold. And the amount of extra gold increases with each level up. I know it sounds simple enough, and I've seen it before, but I don't know how to do it myself.
Also, what do the data customizations for the ability Pillage do? What does accumulation step and salvage ratio mean for that ability?
One final thing, is it possible to make an ability that can target corpses, and it gives the player a chance to gain gold whenever he does it? I'm not sure if I want to use this ability, but it is starting to sound tempting. It will be called Salvage, or Gravesteal or something along those lines.

Ok, lets see what I can help with...
For the first one, you'll have to trigger it. Make a trigger that fires when a unit dies, add 100*level of dying hero gold. Or some other number, and of course you'll need some conditions, but you can probably figure that out.

For Pillage, remember that it returns a percentage of the target's cost. So, in melee, if I spend 100 gold on a building, and a unit with Pillage does all the damage to kill it, they will earn 50 gold. If each attack does 10% of my building's hp, then they will earn 5 gold each attack. I've never used Pillage, but I think the Salvage Ratio would be how many resources are salvaged.

For the last one, you'd almost certainly have to trigger it, and I'm not sure if it's possible. It would have to be, when the unit casts the ability, and there is a corpse nearby, then destroy that corpse and add gold... but I'm not sure if you could even do it. I'll get back to you if I figure it out.

I've never used an ability to target corpses, which I probably will soon. Anyways, try making an ability based off an ability which needs to target a unit, and set the "Targets Allowed" to Dead. If that doesn't work, try looking at Vexorian's Corpse Explosion spell.

If you try Vexorian's spell and are still having problems, give me hollar and I can decipher it for you.
