How is this ability possible

I wanted to make an ability named explosive heads for a gunner hero,
This is an 'Searing Arrows' like ability, it gives bonus damage with each hit, but i wanted to add Area of Effect damage to it (like an explosive =D) but the area of effect data input is not working for 'Searing Arrows'

Does anyone have a solution? or perhaps an alternative skill which does work with bonus damage, splash and auto-casting?

there is an ability like this alrdy, orb of ahnihilation, its under the undead normal abilities

Use orb of fire its gives aoe and increase damage

I tried both orb of annihalation and orb of fire, but with orb of annihalation it doesnt deal any splash and the orb of fire, every time i click rechearch lvl 1 of orb of fire, i dont see the power in the ability screen

Well, for the "Orb of Fire" ability, you need to make it a Hero Ability :D And also, maybe, change it's icon and stuff since it's normally an "Item Ability" :D

believe me im not that stupid xD I put in all 3 icons and made him a hero ability true and item ability false

icon for normal recearch and turn off = flying machine bomb <normal>
missile art = siege engine (barrage) + homing + speed 1500
hero = yes, item = no
turn off = unflamingarrows
turn off = flamingarrows
data - damage bonus = 10 -> 190 (10 lvls)
full damage radius = 300
half damage radius = 500
medium damage factor = 1
small dmage factor = 1
AoE = 500
range = 650
mana = 5 -> 14 (10 lvls)
targets are ground air structure enemy and neutral

everything works exept the splash

Make the Unit with that ability have that Missile Splash attack

2 questions:
1. what is the precise name of what you are referring to? (like 'stats - primary attribute')
2. doesn't that give the unit splash regardless of wheter the unit is using the ability?

1 not sure but close to where you set the damage dice. 2 no unless you edit other fields

Well, there's an option if the ability of orb of fire, "Data - Enabled Attack Index"
If you edit a unit's attack 2 so that it has splash damage, and set that field to 2, then you got splash damage :D

And yes, change the combat -attack 2 - weapon type = Missile (Splash)

Thanks all for helping me! it now deals splash damage :) setting the weapontype to missile splash was what I had to do
