making only 1 enemy unittype visible, but not other units?

I have players 1-8 which are allies and player 10 who is an enemy. At a certain point in the game, a swarm of spiders starts attacking your team. I want the swarm to be visible to the team (you see everything a spider can see), but not all other units from player 10.

For unholy reasons, I would like to avoid the use of visibility modifiers and faerie fire. Also, considering the vast amount of spiders, a bunch of dummy units following each spider... might be laggy.

Call UnitShareVision(unit whichUnit, player whichPlayer, boolean share) for each spider unit?
