How about a custom Locust Swarm? Try copying locust swarm, then creating your own variation of the locust in the unit editor, and change it's model to a missile or something. You can get some very interesting results!

Whenever the hero kills a unit it creates a ghost that lasts 15 sec and dies when it attacks a unit the ghost hase no collision size;
