I recently found out that it was titled 'Portal : First Slice', I also found out about a month ago that they 'accidently' announced a sequal..

Don't know when that's happening, but I can't wait ;P.

If you're getting the Orange Box, I recommend it through Steam again, it's cheaper there and probably one of the most updated games on Steam (they rarely update it for the console)

Also: The demo is pretty much half of the game, the game is also pretty short (21 levels + the last part(?))

I would get it, but it's too short :(

I will agree that it's awesome, though. I have a friend who got it about a month ago, and I got to play about 6ish levels into it, and it was fun around the later levels.

My favorite part is putting a portal on the roof and the floor below it, and jumping in the floor to see a never ending loop of portals. :p

I beat the entire game in like, two hours. Its a really good game, though, I love the idea of it. I also love the end song "Still Alive", it's great. :p

agreed. song was pretty awesome. its one of those games that stand out from the rest. (the challenges are freaking crazy, especially those posted on youtube. lvl 14 with 2 moves!, they use stuff like cameras to hold the door open, its crazy)

the (first part of) ending surpised me, as soon as i saw the fire pit and the upbeat music kicking in, i was like "oh shit..."

I thought that was just the demo, I still think it is. And yea I think a sequel was officially announced now, but with a hit game like that you kinda know it's coming.

>>I would get it, but it's too short

If you get the Orange Box, you wont be getting ripped off cuz it has Half Life 2 and a lot of the expansions, which have a lot of play time and are also great. Team Fortress 2 is also a pretty good game.

>>I recommend it through Steam again

Yea, definitely getting it for comp. I don't even have any of the other consoles. :p

>>do they make a version for wii?

They don't.

I got Orange Box for the Xbox 360 because I like using that more than the computer.

Got it? My Steam ID is jindo565 if you're ever up for a game ;).

Also, you say that they recently 'officially' announced Portal 2? If so, that might be why they added First Slice to the Portal title, being the name of the demo is an idea but I've seen them advertise 'Get the demo of Portal: First Slice now!', just looks like they've renamed the game now.

Beat Portal 4 times over. Love the atmosphere and narrative. Dark and cold, yet at the same time funny and clever. A lot of LOL moments.

Takes a good 4 hours to beat too. Some of the later levels can be a real kicker.

Thread necromancy FTW, but I just finished the game and I have the Still Alive song on repeat right now :D. It is an AWESOME game. I really loved it, too bad it was so short.

"Maybe Black Mesa. That was a joke, ha ha, fat chance" lol :D.

I felt nothing when I had to burn it down D:. But, I think it was still alive. It's with the cake and all that orbs at the final scene.

Yeah, the game was pure win. I hope they are making a Portal 2 for the release of Half-Life 3,

Euthanizing the Weighted Companion Cube was probably one of the hardest things I've ever done in a video game.

Seriously, took me like 30 minutes to just decide and let it go. :(

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
