(Oct. 7) - When it comes to picking out an outfit to wear to school, there's a fine line between self-expression and unnecessary distraction.

One Georgia high school has decided that one of its 16-year-old male students crossed that line, and has asked him to start dressing in a more "manly" fashion, The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

Jonathan Escobar had recently transferred to North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, Ga. and immediately caused quite a stir among students and staff with his penchant for wearing wigs, makeup, skinny jeans, vintage tops and women's flats.

"If I can't express myself, I won't go to school," he told the Atlanta Journal Constitution, "I want to get the message out there that because this is who I am, I can't get an education."

Damn it, just shoot the damn kid and have everyone else go on with their lives.
I am so sick of this contraproductivity going on amongst the youth of today:(
They just find any damn excuse not to go to school and all they want is to stand out from the crowd:(

We got 7billion people on this planet, of course there is going to be people wearing the same stuff as you, and of course some place you will be a regular person no matter what you wear.
If you want to stand out so badly, wear a huge cowboyhat or something:nuts:

The school my siblings go to doesn't allow even hoodies. Nor hats, hoods of any kind, or any "head covering".

Adolescence is all about finding your own identity... if he's that adamant about who he is, good for him. But it's his loss if it's causing a disruption to his own education. You can't always get your way, if he can't change himself, then he's the only one denying himself his own education.

You know, here in Australia, we have strict uniform policies in all schools. People accessorise to a certain extent within the confounds of the uniform, and they find their own identity. But why can't he just be himself when he gets home?

Sure, your image defines a large part of you, but it's not the deciding factor in what you are. If he can't define himself without certain clothing and stuff, then he must have a pretty bland personality.

The only thing schools should control is obscene material. Everything else is fucking fine. What do school officals not understand? They run the school to a) give children an education and b) to ensure student protection. Not to run a fucking fashion show. Let kids dress their way. It is their way of speaking freely.

I find it funny that people are so worried about cloth. If you're so worried about cloth, is that how 'singling-out' starts?

Fake being gay? Then get some lucky girl to "convert" you back

I don't think I would feel very comfortable being around guys that talk with elevated voices. That annoys me SO fucking much. Like I don't care if you're gay (as long as you don't touch me) but when they talk like that I just want to hit them, I don't get what's so hard about talking like a normal person.

Anyway, can we take that picture off from the forum? I about cried when I saw it....
