siphon mana/drain life spell channel help

well im trying to get the effect of a dummy unit to channel drain life to a hero to transfer hit point to the hero(boss). is it possible. i tried changing the targets allowed around and its still telling me in game error message that "must target a enemy unit"

Where do you order it to cast it? If it is for the hero and the dummy is created for the owner of the hero, then of course it won't work. Make the Targets Allowed only Hero, Friend, Ground.

Sometimes, such problem occur is not because you set the 'Targets allowed' wrongly. It could be caused by some other data fields that are set wrongly. Did you set life decay, damage etc correctly? Sometimes the values cannot be zero or it'll cause problems which you're experiencing now.

ya i am pretty sure i have the targets allowed. like pharoah pointed out with the targets allowed. that data field is set accordingly, but what would the other fields need to look like?

*edit* it "will" be cast from a dummy unit at the exact location of a pylon. but atm i have it set as a hero ability trying to get it to work from one hero to another at first.
