Starcraft 2 vs WC3

As Starcraft 2 is approaching, this question has been on my mind for a while.

Bear in mind, that this relates to when Starcraft 2 is available and that the question concerns playing, modelling, texturing and programming etc.

Starcraft 2 for me. When sc2 will be out Warcraft 3 will be way out of its league... Maybe Warcraft 4 vs Starcraft 2 in the future will be a greater challenge for me

Depend the kind of world you need

it depends how many of the good mapmakers leave wc3.

For a mapper that wan't a futuristic environment SC2 will probably be way better with a better engine editor capacity and a bit better 3D.

But if you want a medieval look wc3 will hold the line for a few years I think.

I'll go pure Starcraft 2 until I beat the game (Campaign) Then depending how many people still play Warcraft I'll continue to play the custom games on that until mappers get some good maps out.

I kinda like Sc2 because it's scripting language is based on C (Galaxy), which I know better than the language that JASS is based on. Plus many Blizzard staffers stated that their map editor would be much better.

I will test SC2 and see how I like it. That will determine what happens. Most likely, I'll be mainly focused on one or the other, and only pay a little attention to the other.

With all the awesome things they have promised to add in sc2 for map makers? Hell yeah, here SC2 here I come. I mean, multiplayer campaigns, automatic leak removal, and I think they were talking about passwords for editing maps and such. EPIC.
What I'd like to see too is that you could upload your maps to your battle.net profile so people can see you made those maps and download it from there.

Edit: found the part where blizz talked about map locking.

Will the new map editor support locking maps? People hate losing credit for a map.

NOTE: Blizzard makes their pre-released games seem so awesome but when they actually come out its not what people expected.

How many times have blizzard failed? IF blizzard cant even manage to make war3 without causing so many problems to themselves and the members.... what makes you think they can manage a bigger engine, and yet let alone how many times they will fuck up.

Like people say- before riding a 2 wheeler, learn to ride one with training wheels first!

I'll check out Sc2 and mod for it a while, but I'll probably still pop in for wc3 every now and then. But I'm not sure if I'll mod much for wc3 anymore, I'd be to angry with all the custom features I'm missing out on.

THINK about this. How many games have Blizzard made that are awesome. Every game is going to have some kind of problem with it. That's why you patch it. They have been working on Starcraft 2 for quite a long time, so it should be pretty good. Of course there will be problems, but so does every game.

Great Game play,Great storyline,Great sounds, and great graphics are elements of a great game.

Unfortunately for the other games SC2 has all 4 of them
