(Done with TH's permission) A quick survey to determine how happy you are with the News Forum and see if anything could be improved. Please take a minute to answers the questions. Hopefully this survey would give an idea of what you like in the News Forum and how happy you are with it. Thanks! :)

Q: How pleased are you with the news forum?
  1. Very pleased.
  2. Pleased.
  3. Its okay.
  4. I'm not pleased with it.

Q: Do you find the articles posted to be interesting?
  1. Very interesting.
  2. interesting.
  3. They are okay.
  4. Usually not interesting.

Q: Do you think the news forum is active enough?
  1. I found the forum to be very active!
  2. It is active enough.
  3. Not enough active in my opinion.
  4. Definitely some ways need to be found to bring some activity.

Q: Do you enjoy debating and commenting on articles? What do you think on others' comments.
  1. Very! I do it all the time.
  2. Usually yes.
  3. I enjoy reading comments but often I don't post my ideas.
  4. At times I enjoy seeing what people think about articles.

Q: What articles you find to be the most interesting?
  1. Politics/World articles.
  2. Articles that have to do with Sci/Tech and health.
  3. Funny/odd articles.
  4. Others (please go into detail).

Q: How active are you in the news forum?
  1. Check it every time I log to TH.net.
  2. I check it a lot.
  3. Every so often I will take a look at the articles.
  4. Very rarely.

Q: How happy are you with the news forum moderation?
  1. Very! The moderators are doing a great job moderating and posting content.
  2. The moderators are doing a good job.
  3. The moderators are doing a fine job though it could be improved.
  4. The moderators should definitely consider changing things.

Q: How happy are you with how articles are posted at the moment?
  1. Very! I find it to be comfortable the way articles are posted.
  2. Quite good and comfortable.
  3. It could use improvements.
  4. Changes should definitely be considered.

I find the moderation system very good, how they need to be approved to be moved to the main headline news forum.

It's more or less fine at the moment. My only point is that there are perhaps too many articles; some of them don't seem like they are newsworthy, they don't trigger any reaction or response from the community.

Thanks, however please know that I'm not a moderator. My position is 'News Poster'. In other words I have moderating powers in the Headline Forum but I'm not part of the staff.

Now guys, let's see more answers. :shades:

Having moderating powers = Mod.
Doesn't matter where.

Having moderating powers everywhere = SuperMod.

Not exactly I believe. Mods have authority, they can speak for the staff. Also, (I assume) they take part of the staff's decisions.

But let's bring the thread back on topic. :)

There's room for improvement, but overall I really like the way news is set up.

I think a lot of the Funny/odd articles to be stupid a lot of the time, though.

I was surprised to see how funny/odd news are popular, really encourages me to keep posting them! Also the amount of people who seem to lurk in the News Forum is much higher than I thought it would. Good to know!

I very much enjoy the Sci Fi stuff. New technology is always cool to hear about. :)

I still remember reading an article on the Segway. Now I'm actually seeing them in college. ^^

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
