hey jindo for part of the reward..how about giving rep?

I also thought about this, but you each judge would have to award some to get a decent amount.

Considering it isn't "official", there isn't much else you can give as a reward, with the exception of "Winner of Terrain Contest" etc.

Maybe a combo - rep, the title that comes with winning, and a custom avatar to show this.

Sounds good :p

Anyways, Jindo put links to all the entries on the front page, in the first post - saves you searching through six pages of posts to find the five entries!

Well my map is almost done...technically. I need to blend it a bit more and figure out a location for the sixth player (it's a beautiful melee map, so if you like it, you can release it yourself in the Maps section or ask me to do so whether or not it wins the contest :D)

Let's see, I'm using a LOT more shrubbery (it's looking good yet repetitive...something I'm going to change) and it still doesn't use as much doodads as Killfest's four terrain maps. Is this a good or bad thing? :)

Sheep_Quest, if you read the whole thread you'd know that he didnt WANT to give an overview because it would spoil the map, that is why there is no overview from him...

Remember all: Im getting links to your posts with the terrain screenies so edit the post if you are changing the screenshots with new ones.

not realy no, killfest is an exception because he doesnt want to give his terrain away, it is for a big surprise map that he is working on and i think it is fairly big :D.

Well, these might be the last of my screenies up until I release my map for judging. It's a melee map once again, so whether or not this wins, I'm releasing it on the Maps as a nice and simple (but decorative) melee map.

--The creeps are blue tinted due to the setting on "camp" for creeping melee-style purposes.--

This is the overgrown passage to the camp of ex-pirates. As you can see, there are some bandits overlooking the passage eager to attack any weakling wanting to go through.

This temple sunk into the ground after one nasty earthquake a long, long time ago. Now, heretic wizards hungering for magical power reside within it, eager to slay any outsiders.

This village was near the sunken temple and somehow linked to it--it also fell about the same distance. However, instead of mages inhabiting it, the Undead did instead...a small battalion.

The third and last place connected in the earthquake was this marsh, created by ripping a hole in the ground near a mountain range. The mountain range sunk into the ground, the hole dumping a hidden pocket of water into the valleys of the mountains, soon creating this marsh.

These seemingly endless grasslands cover a good portion of the Hidden Groves, surrounding the hidden getaways with their tiring hills and pits.

And last of all, the zoom out of the map :)

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
