But... Why two movies? Yeah, more money and you can do more of the things that happened in the books and stuff, but still? It isn't that long.

The money alone is attractive enough, and I'm sure they will add some filler for both films since, as you said, the book isn't that long.

I personally don't give a s***. It's Peter jackson, every movie I've seen by him is EXCELLENT. Now take Eragon, (a really bad movie in my opinion, a "highlight" package ) imagine it had been directed by Peter Jackson. He has experience with fantasies, he could've made that movie a real legend, not some flimsy, action-packed movie that is really a boast of special effects.

I'd love to see the hobbit, I've heard or read the stroy about 8 times, and I love it to pieces. If it's done by Peter Jackson, who defied every other nob who tried to create the LOTR series, and make The Hobbit a legendary movie as well... <breathe in> <sigh...> that would be sooo great... <:)

Hey! Even better, there's gonna be a game based on the movie! Tell me when that's gonna be released!!

Eek!

Cool, I can wait, but I am excited. My younger brother is going to wet himself. I think I've seen him reading The Hobbit like 8 times front to back. I heard someone mention games, in my humble opinion I seldom find a game created in a movie's wake that has any real staying power. Sure some of the LOTR's games were good, however, few have the replay value of say WCIII TFT, even if some of them were R.T.S. style.

ya, lotr was a great movie and stuff, but Isnt it kindof late (I knew they had troubles already, but) If your going to wait to make a prequel, dont wait this long.

Of course, LOTR was based of a book published around, was it WW2?

Peter Jackson ? The honorable Lord Jackson ?! The same guy who produced movies of dubious quality like
Flying killer piranhas and Bad taste ? The same gentleman who masterfully portrayed cult classic like LotR ? C'mon you fantasy geeks admit it ! Jackson turned whole LotR
into a beautiful, touching opera with flying super elf, comic relief dwarf and Fairy king
( who was human btw ) and just used exorbitantly large amounts of money to take audience's and critic's attention away from rather gigantic plotholes with "massive" battle scenes.

Kindly disregard that, hobbit the book was bad enough, and now that Jackie boy makes film about it, I bet Bilbo Baggins, the dynamic protagonist can flip somersaults and throw shurikens and decapitate trolls with single blow, all along some triumph majestic victory dance blasting from background.. PASS

Please refrain from using such language in your posting.

Great news. It's exciting indeed :)

If it's of the same quality as the LOTR trilogy, we can expect something epic coming out from Peter Jackson.

I also find the 2-movies idea the best they could have. Even if it seems shorts, there is a lot of stuff that happens in The Hobbit, and they couldn't just cut a few things and release the movie. Everything needs to be done, everything needs to happen and everything needs to be precised with an entirety of details. Only 2 movies of 1 book can do that.

Hell yes I'd do, just pass me the amount of money Jackson used to elude dimwitted nutsuckers to take his "masterpiece" seriously, and I'd put the money on better use by creating guinness world record by burning record breaking pile of LoTr copies... That book alone is at least questionable reading for mature audiences, and more questionable literal puke by man who is a professor for gods sake.

I'm done

This kind of reminds me of the LOTR vs. Star Wars in Clerks 2.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
