you can't change the tileset of an existing map, without re-doing the whole thing by hand

MAYBE there is some special program (not made by Blizzard) that can convert it, but I don't know....

There are editors such as GUedit and SCMtoolkit which have an optuion of changing terrain but they don't work.. when I try with SCMtoolkit it screws up the terrain badly and makes all terrain only placable in 1X2 rectangles.... not to mention i lost all placed units when i changed terrain.

But you can go ahead and try them... it's rescuable with SCMtoolkit (maybe guedit not sure) if you switch the map back to the terrain it previously was... look in any of the MANY threads about SCMtoolkit for a link.

Hes right, it screws with the isometrics of the map.... but you can repair the damage with a prgram called ISOM or one by Shadowflare, im not sure on the name. ISOM isnt very user friendly and i havent tried SF's but if you need to switch the tileset youll figure it out

No you can't fix it :/ I've downloaded that isom fix program by shadowflare and it didn't fix map that happens to. Unless you've been able to get it to work.

By using ISOM, not sfs version, i was able to get my map back into working order. However, I had to play around with different values and crashed starcraft innumerable times. How bad was your map messed up?

By the way, i read somewhere that you are addicted to starcraft if your folder is more than 200mb. Is it a bad sign that mine is dangerously near reaching 1 gig?

Thats not entirely true... if you had a full installation of Starcraft (both Starcraft and Broodwar), it would be over 200mb.

My folder is over 5 gb lol... (this is what happens when you play quality campaigns :D)

Starcraft + Broodwar is only 100 MB or so... the folder only starts bulging to 200 MB once you go onto battle.net and pick up the patch and tons of maps.

You need to read more before replying, buddy.

The person said he wanted to change an existing map to a different terrain, not to make a new map with new terrain. So, for example: You have a twilight terrian map with terrain, units and buildings already existing. You want to change it to a different terrain like badlands. To do so, you need to use one of the programs posted above.
