Dynamic calling of functions

I havent been here for a while, but i know the people around here are intelligent (sometimes)
and at the moment im creating my own scripting language, not for anything specific though, im doing it in C++ if you like it or not, and so far ive done alot of thinking, and a bit less of actually writing code. But i know how everything will be working. except for one thing, wich is function calling

now what i wanted to do is to load DLLs, and get the functions from them, so you can use any function from any DLL (in a dll written in C, on windows that is).

so it would go like this
My scripting language:
Code:
#include "IncludeMe.dll"

MyFunction()

What would be happening in C:
Code:
    HINSTANCE lib = LoadLibrary(TEXT("IncludeMe.dll"));
    if(!lib)
        return 1;
    ???? function = (????)GetProcAddress(lib, "MyFunction");
    function();

now the "????" would be a function pointer, but how do you figure out what its return type is, and what the parameters are?

Edit:

well of course you could define the return type and parameters in some header file, but then how do you create a function pointer with a type that would fit anything?

"anything (*FuncPointer)(anything, anything, infinite anything parameters)" wont work

I think what you're looking for is Reflection. Does C++ support reflection or any kind of meta programming?

Well, I guess you've figured out what reflection is. Here's the wiki article in case you still need it.

If you want to make your own programming language, look up for "YACC." I've never done this myself, but that's what I've heard from my friend who has programmed a compiler before. He also said that YACC is a pain though ... so look for the alternatives.

Well i just wanted to make a scripting language that would be handled by an interpreter, im not going to make a real compiler.

so the interpreter would read the script, load dlls (wich could be any dlls)
then get the functions, and be able to call them

and im not going to use other applications for this, just C++ and my coding "skills" :p

From what I understand about YACC, it's a program that generates a parser given the language definition in BNF (Bacchus Naur Form [sic?]). So whether you're making a compiler or an interpreter, you're going to need a parser.

Can I ask you about your project? What language features are you planning to have? High level functions? Type inferencing? Currying?

Well its going to have nothing special, not even struct or classes, for now :p

i wanted to make my own scripting language with some basic variable types
char, int, float, bool, arrays of those, and pointers.
whiles, ifs and elses to control everything and thats it

furthermore its going to have totally nothing
im doing it so maybe ill learn something nice from it =D
thats why im not going to use other applications for it
(i mean a compiler compiler o_O come on man)
