grammar question- lost hp or hp lost

The hero deals damage based on hp lost/lost hp to nearby enemy units.

which one is correct?

Um I'd say the hero deals damage based on HP lost.

Lost HP sounds like a certain wizard can't find his way to hogwartz.

'lost' before a noun means 'being lost', as in not knowing the way.
'lost' behind a noun means 'having lost', you've lost the thing you're refering to.

thanks. If i wan to write hp as hit point, should it be hit points lost or hit point lost?

i would say hit points, its rare you only lose 1 hp. + it sounds better.
