I have been using WEU for a long long time and I have tried using Newgen before but I was getting the same problem so I gave up... Anyway I have downloaded, deleted, and redownloaded 3 times now. When I try to start up the NewGen Warcraft and/or the NewGen WE files I get a message that says worldedit.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. ***or (depending on which file I opened)*** war3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I was looking at posts from other people and one person had the same problem, but it was caused by a program that I don't have...

help get me out of WEU!

I unzipped it using WinRar if that might make a problem. and how do I install NewGen? I never saw anything on that step...

If memory serves, you don't install it. You drag all the folders and icons and whatnot that came in the zip file into a new folder and run the NewGen editor from there.

Yeah I didn't actually meaqn "install" it sorry about that.

Just drag everything you unzipped into a new folderr and run NewGen we and if it still gives you the error message try rebooting.

ya I've rebooted plenty nothing is happening though... When I start war3.exe from the NewGen pack, I also get the message that I have an instance of wc3 already running after the error message. (it also says that if I have Kapersky turn it off etc...) I don't have anything from wc3 running and the only antivirus I have is ad-aware (that I know of)

aww...
well at least I'm not alone =)
Anybody else having this problem or knows how to fix it? I've searched everywhere and found no solution.

Here's step-by-step what I did:
1.) download the file using 7-zip
2.) Extracted all files to a folder called NEWGEN on my desktop.
3.) Rebooted computer (I did NOT open program yet)
4.) Opened NewGen Warcraft
5.) Got an error message, I hit do not send.
6.) Opened NewGen WE
7.) Same as 5

HELP ME! What did I do wrong?
This time I did NOT get the message that I need to close antivirus/have another instance of wc3 running.
I use Windows XP on a decent computer

Have you got the latest wc3 patch?
It upgrades your WE and makes it unusable with NewGen

Just get the old WE from Kc's sig (If he still has it) and replace your current one. (The exe file)

Actually if you read the readme it warns you not to put it in the WC III directory as it could overwrite files the game needs t function properly.
