Warcraft 3 TFT lan Error

I'm trying to play a LAN match with my brother, the computers are in the same workgroup, can see each other in game and i've Turned the firewall off on both computers.
My problem is, whenever ether of us try's to join the other we get an error message saying:

Unable to join the specified game.
Please try again, or select a different game.

were using LAN, no hamachi or anything both version 1.21
any ideas on how to get it working?

Make sure both Wc3 installs are the same version, or you'll get that error.

Tried different maps? Perhaps a Blizzard-made one?

It might be something with your router, what kind of router are you running?

I tried it on a Rain of Chaos map, then on a Frozen Throne Map then on a custom map.

Using a Linksys Router, but that's not the problem, as i have tried it with the router connected and disconnected.

Uh, disconnecting the router would make it instantly not work, as thats whats connecting the two computers. If you're both 100% sure you have the same version of Wc3, then it's either a router or firewall problem.

no, we also have a cable going directly from one computer to the other.
i shal check the router and firewall settings again then

Turn the Firewall completely off and then try.

Just to make sure - this cable plugs into the router and then you have another cable to the other computer, right? You don't really go from one computer to the other?
