What language should i use?

Hi i am making an assignment which involves me building a machine to do a desired task. It requires the ability to make fast computations (within about 3 seconds) of numbers and co-ordinates with the ability to receive various inputs and outputs from sensors. I was wondering which programming language i should use and any other sort of information i should know about it. Also if anyone knows, what sort of microchip i should use.

What kind of device are you programming on? You don't really have a choice for embedded systems but to use the SDK you're given. Chip-logic is usually done in VHDL and then flashed onto the CPLD.

Ok because i have no idea about any of those things you just told me, can you tell me the easiest one to use to satisfy the job?

Might be a hard task if you don't know the basics.

What enowee is saying is that you need to know what language the SDK, the pack containing functions and stuff and use it. You can't choose any language.

By the way, 3 seconds shouldn't be a big problem, I'd focus on other things first.
