BlizzVault
Blizzard Modding Site

History
More than a year ago I founded a site for a Warcraft III modding clan I was in charge of. Clan Mapz. Over the past year the site grew to more than a clan site to an actual warcraft modding site. Now since my clan no longer exists and I wanted to take the site in the next direction, I bring you BlizzVault.

Site Information
Blizzvault is a modding site for all blizzard games made from Warcraft III on, excluding WoW.
Though as of now it's predominantly Warcraft because Diablo III and Starcraft II haven't been released yet.

I'm currently in need of vJASS code and systems moderators. Either pm me or reply here if your interested.

Why use BlizzVault while I can use Hive Workshop or WC3C. Tell us something that your site doesn't have, something "unique".

Welcome to clan mapz, one of the greatest map modding communities around. If you are interested in the battle.net clan, you may apply here.

First you must register on the forums!

Enjoy your stay, and be active.

I looks like I'm staring at a frickin' terminal in fallout 3. Not the most pleasing IMHO.

It's been a long, long time.

I rather like this site, if only my interests had not fallen away from warcraft and were still not with starcraft.

I used to be an active super moderator on clan mapz, but I started to really dislike the site and the community, both of which are simply annoying.

Note that that was phrased in the nicest way I possibly could think of.

> Some people like smaller communities.
And what do you think advertising will achieve?

My situation is pretty much the same as Romeo's.

Interesting, I may decide to delve deeper into this community. I have an unhealthy interest in minor, unique communities such as these.

IMO it beats the hive default skin.

That was some epic words... Ironicly correct words. In clan mapz you can get your map reviewed.

uh... right, forgot the name was changed. Anyway, I for one can guarantee that the reviews are of a very good quality and also the resourse section has some very good mods (who will help you improve your resourse and encourage you if you are out of inspiration)

The place has some fauls, yes, but nothing is perfect. I think that in this type of threads if you don't have anything nice to say you shouldn't say it at all. (bu-hu I can't type K so I replace it with O ) Some people might find the site interesting.

As this site doesn't do map reviews, map reviews are obviously going to be better at Blizzvault; better than nothing.
Though if you want a decent map review from pro mappers, I'd suggest going to TheHive.

Bloodcount seems to be exaggerating an awful lot in post #16.

We actually have some quality map reviewers.
I was browsing around the forums and I didn't seen any reviews.. Were they lost in the conversion from Mapz to Vault, or am I oblivious? EDIT: Doh, in the same threads as the maps. I was looking for a forum section\thread.

Well, it appears to have nothing much in it, but it appears to be a nice little site nevertheless. I'm not really into wc3 anymore though, so I won't be joining.

Romek, anything is better then nothing. Mr. Nemo is one of the best reviewers I have seen.

Furthermore, You haven't been in the vault for ages so you don't get to to vote. Furthermore, I am an example: Devine helped me and encouraged me to continue with my iconing when even I didn't beleave I can pull it. For me that is better then any aproval I can get anywhere from anyone (well except Ace's but he is out of the picture now)

Oh, did I mention that BlizzVault has some interesting contests ?

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am not big on the recipes I am just promoting them - I use the site as a practice place promoting stuff

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
  • Ghan Ghan:
Heard Houston got hit pretty bad by storms last night. Hope all is well with TH.
