This has come up before and the answer is no. There's just too much potential for abuse when you can add relatively arbitrary HTML into posts.

What if I am making a thread with a table, and constantly updating it, like a request thread? Then it's suddenly unrealistic to continuously make images.

Tables are quite useful no doubt, but I am pretty sure Ghan knows what is he saying speaking he has dealt with sites that use the Table BBCode.

google docs spreadsheet has worked well for me for similar purposes, perhaps try that?
