How about :

How to write 1 000 with four matches?
Considering that you aint allowed to break the matches, 1k?
Well it aint a math riddle, but it is a riddle:
A guy lives on the 5th floor in a building with a elevator. Every day he takes the elevator down to the 1st floor, and goes for a stroll. When he comes back, he takes the elevator to the 4th floor. If somebody else is ridding in the elevator along with the man, he takes the elevator up to the 5th floor. Otherwise he get's out, and takes the stairs to the 5th floor. He aint following this pattern on rainy days though. He's still strolling but takes the elevator to the 5th floor without stopping on the 4th floor. Why?

Another one:
A father and his son get's into a car accident. They are both rushed to the hospital, but in two different parts of the town. When the son is delivered to the emergency room, the doctor performing the operation cries out "That's my son". How is that possibly considering that the father is in another part of the town?

>Do you mean (5+5)*5+5+(5/5)?
If your going to correct my, at least do it properly:
5(5+5)+5+(5/5)
I assumed that people got the big picture, but next time i'll be more precise :rolleyes:

The guy is just too short to reach the button "5"

As for 1 000 with four matches, you can't break 'em :)

Lord_Kakashi, what is binominal? English ain't my primary language so I dont get it fully :)

[Edit]

My wild guess would be :
1. 10x + 25x2 + 1 = 0
D= 100 - 25*4*1 = 100-100
x = -25/20 = -2,5

(x+2,5)(x+2,5) = 0

Is that what you wanted?

How about:

How many pages there are in a book, if the text begins at page seven, and if you would write that number before the real number of pages and divide it from 15, you would get the real amount of pages. Anyway, there is more than a hundred pages in the book.

So how many pages exactly?
