JASS NewGen Pack 1.5d

Well, all I know is that since 1.21b I only sometimes manage to fire up NewGen properly by using we.bat, but most of the times even that doesn't work.

Well, all I know is that since 1.21b I only sometimes manage to fire up NewGen properly by using we.bat, but most of the times even that doesn't work.

I had that problem BEFORE 1.21b.
It happens because Grimoire does not handle dll injection very well on all windows configurations + warcraft versions.

Hacking is a very messy business especially with multiversion software,
and since you cannot expect Grimoire developers to have every possible software versions to test at home they simply make it work with what they currently have.

But I can tell you this:
Since blizzard released a patch with no cd protection,
dll injection will be much easier to do so the next version of Grimoire will be permanent solution, it will work perfectly for all because all will be using same version of wc3.

So patience my friends, the time is near...

This new post should mostly be a repetition of the previous one, exactly the same situation, do you have time and want newgen to work in your computer? then go help us, note that guys like me, pitzer and pipe all have newgen working correctly on the latest patch so, we can't even acknowledge the bug.

Sadly for the rest of you I also have no problems with NewGen...

PS: Double post self-quote, the worst case of post-incest I saw so far :D

When I try to install that pack, I can't use WEU Integration anymore, is there any way to fix that?

I remember in one of the debugging stages pipe asked BoNe to disable loadmpq.dll injection from we.lua , edit we.lua and uncomment the line that does such injection, Pipe might need you to test that it is still working correctly.

Hmmm, for some reason, I can't load NewGen. It says thats the WC3 disc isn't in my disc drive, but normal WE works with/without the disc and the WC3 autoplay works just fine so the disc shouldn't be the problem. Any idea what could be the problem? It worked last night without the disc, then it started loading maps in normal WE, even though I set it them to open with NewGen.

Edit: Ah, solved the problem ^^. The CD thing was because worldedit.exe was open, but it wasn't showing in the task bar.

Only problem now is that when I open NewGen, it occasionally doesn't show the Grimoire, Extensions and Compiler menus, but the Trigger Editor has the TESH menu.

Quick question, I get the menues, i get, well everything starts so far, but I cant use Syntax Check, It just says "common.j not found, make sure it's in the same directory as TESH.dll and try again" should I just reinstall it to see if it's corrupted or is it another known problem?

Edit: This solved itself after one restart and hasn't occured since, great add-on/program ;)

JNGP 4d Update

To get all the 1.21b trouble under control I'm releasing a temporary 4d version.
It contains mainly 1.21b related changes.
Everyone who has problems with the new patch should try this verison and report their results here. Once we've got everything worked out there shall be a new version.
Here's a list of the most important changes:

> Updated to Grimoire 1.5 (1.21b fixes)
> Updated to JassHelper 0.9.9.8
> Repaired the 'Register Shell Extensions' option so that maps open in NewGen WE with a double click (-> disable and re-enable this option in the menu to fix it)
> Various Grimex bugfixes
> This should work better with the 1.21b patch than previous versions, although it isn't clear if all problems are gone now
> Warmachine and w3jdebug menu entries added

does this work with 1.21 patch? i think im not going to use 1.21b, so maybe ill just stick with JNGP 4c

Hmm, it includes JH 0998... Well, JH 0998 isn't just in beta test? Would it be unstable for using it?

It has small issues I've heard. But the next Jasshelper version should come soon.
If you dont have any problems with 4c you can as well stick with that until then.

Quick question, I get the menues, i get, well everything starts so far, but I cant use Syntax Check, It just says "common.j not found, make sure it's in the same directory as TESH.dll and try again"

I get the same error and it did not solve itself after restarting.

To PitzerMike:

I can't use the file "common.j" in NewGen also. I think it's the file location, as it could not find it, thought it was right beside the TESH dll. Also, sometimes after I saved a map, NewGen crashes. I use XP, sp2, Traditional Chinese.

I just found out that the common.j file must be put into the jasshelper folder, not into the TESH folder. Simply copy it there and the error will be gone. This syntax check is still kinda useless since it can only do a very limited check (without vJass syntax etc.).

tom_mai78102: Does the crash happen with older versions of NewGen too? Or does it only happen with the latest 4d version?

Or even third party. Like if you don't have an original one in a functional condition, you cannot play this game properly. Like yeah the keyboard mods exist, but I think those are BARELY functional
  • Varine Varine:
And since almost all of my programming experience is with defunct shit now, I figure my best place is helping preserve legacy stuff. Which I don't know how to do necessarily, but I need some kind of a hobby and figuring out how older things worked is the only shit that really interests me. Well soldering and restoration is fun too, but no one is bringing me new stuff to fix and restore, so it's mostly old shit, and I LOVE OG Xbox so much. I want to make sure it can function as long as possible, until someone can effectively emulate it at least. I have like 15 I was going to fix over the winter and didn't get to.

I also have a couple OG gameboys, but idk if I can do that without like, manufacturing new parts that no one makes anymore and I can't do that right now

Currently in the middle of getting the probate process going. We're doing the informal probate process.

A probate is usually done with a will, yes? If so I am sorry for your loss

Yeah Tom, me too sorry for your loss buddy my mom told me she finds out her olds friend died from Google searching them. She had not talked to one of her old friends in a year and found out she died from Google. Also another one in the same session. RIP all of them my sincere condolences Tom

We have some elderly guests that regularly come hang out at the bar at the end of the night, and every once in a while we don't see someone for a few weeks and then someone shows up with their obituary.
  • Varine Varine:
We usually let them do their memorials there in the morning if they want to and I'll make them some snacks and drinks. There was one guy named Tom that came in like every night and would sit by himself and get a bunch of soup and a glass of wine. idk why but he LOVED our fucking soup, like he would order a fucking quart of it at a time and would always get so sad when we stop doing it for the summer.

  • Varine Varine:
But he also loved our calamari, which is another thing I hate but it sells super well so I can't change it. There was one day he came in and was asking me how to make it, because he tried to at home once in the off season when we stop running it and he really wanted it lol
  • Varine Varine:
I think he's one of the only people I've made recipes for for free because he really wanted a broccoli cheddar, and it was like dude I don't have a recipe, it's just whatever I have, but here, this is how you do it
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think he ever figured out how to do the calamari in a pan though, like idk how to do that either. He was afraid of the at home deep fryers though and it's like yeah, that's fair, I am too
  • Varine Varine:
He was just such a sweet old man, we had two servers pregnant and they held a baby shower together, he was soooooo fucking excited to get to see a baby. Unfortunately he died a month or so before they were born
  • The Helper The Helper:
So I decided to Google some people that I had not seen or heard from in a while and sure enough one of my old best friends, we had a falling out years ago but whatever, find out he died of Pancreatic Cancer in January. I have also lost a few of my closer acquaintances from growing up the last year. Getting old - people die - I kinda thought it was going to be this way a few years ago....

    Forum running super slow again
  • Ghan Ghan:
Not really clear from the stats as to what is causing the slowness.
  • Ghan Ghan:
We get a lot of guest traffic so it may just be the load is getting too high and not from any particular source.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Looks like the server is maxed out on CPU.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Oh it looks like a lot of the traffic is Silkroad Forums. That domain isn't protected by Cloudflare.
  • Ghan Ghan:
But the old Silkroad site is still on its own server. I just had a test site set up on this server for it.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I just disabled that test site. Let's see if that helps the load.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Looks much better already.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I had actually forgot about the Silkroad site. I had asked
  • The Helper The Helper:
SD Ryoko about it and he said the couple of people left on there really like it, that was a few years ago, maybe I should check back
  • jonas jonas:
I guess when you're getting old, and the last day of soup season draws near, you start wondering
  • jonas jonas:
will I make it to the start of the next season? or was this the last time I'll ever have my favorite dish?
