What about sounds that you cannot control? Like models that got a strange dying sound, I am using one.. And I can't find a way to delete it. Will I get deduct points then? (Got a solution, but then the trigger will grow 4-5 lines bigger, and it's quite big already).

Ah please Andrew, tell me that sounds doesn't count!

Okay I'm pretty much done.

I hereby bring thee:

Satan's (note how it's scarily similar to Santa's) Little Helper.

Anyone knows that the Phoenix originates from hell and whatever historican that says something else is a liar. There are no neverending flames but the flames of hell, and if Satan had a bird it would surely be a Phoenix, which makes this spell very much connected to hell.

Written in vJASS (requires NewGen to run) and uses HAIL as attachment system.

It is fully MUI (why would Satan only have a limited amount of birds?).

Sounds are not that important, but if the mis-match really sticks out, then I have nothing to do. Else, it's fine.

General feeling points might suffer a little bit. But that's all.

It totally depends on the skills of the coder.

One can produce dreadful code using NewGen, too, if not knowing what's one doing.

Glad to see you join! :D

Just so you know, I may have to pull out of the contest. WC3 isn't working at all for me, and NewGen is working properly either so I can't finish the spell and/or test it

Can you cross out my name for the time being? I'm gonna see what I can do to fix this.

Sad to hear that. I was really curious of what spell you would submit.

By the way. If a code is big, and you know how to optimize the code, will it count as the code has "fluff"?

Heres my spell, i made the spell very simple with the abuse of Loops and no systems used, as a map maker, i can tell that the spell is balanced enough for custom maps

The Efreet
MUI
JASS
Lag less? (doesnt lag on my pc)
Leak less? (I searched for leaks, and found nothing)

No screen shots

The spell is changing per level
Level 1 - only a simple area damage with effects
Level 2 - initial damage, and area damage overtime
Level 3 - initial damage, area damage overtime, and a final blow

no systems needed, no variables needed, and doesnt need jass new gen pack, just an ordinary jass spell coding with the old school constant functions

Let's say MUI = 10 point and MPI = 5 point, since it's both MUI and MPI I don't think it will be 15 points anyway. But probably MUI will give more points that MPI.

@Andrew lol :D. Well actually I didn't meant that, well I am lazy but I mean that you know how to optimize it and we don't

if its MUI, its MPI also right?
and will that give extra points?

The deal with MUI (or MPI) is a little bit complicated to discuss.

Lets assume there are two contestants: contestant A, who is skillful in JASS and contestant B, who doesn't know JASS and sticks to GUI.

Obviously has JASS many advantages over GUI: easier to produce fluid and MUI code with attaching systems,
whereas GUI users have to rely on arrays and complex design, which are quite difficult to read and not very efficient.

Now, if I were to give extra points for MUI, contestant A would have a benefit and more likely score more points than contestant B.

However, if I were to give no points for MUI, it would be unfair to contestant A, because I wouldn't award contestant A
for learning JASS aka for trying to being better than the GUI-using contestant B.

Currently, my policy is that I will not give more points for MUI, however, the contestants who took their time
to make their spell MUI anyway will probably have an easier time scoring more points.

I mean that you know how to optimize it and we don't

If you use loops instead of writing out the thing 15 times, stay away from BJ's and calculate values directly and etc. then you will be on the safe side.

stay away from BJ's

Isn't that unfair for GUI? I'm not sure what BJ is but I think it's the code blizzard uses and if you stay away from it the spell will become more "flawless". You can change that in GUI?

Is a 20 seconds cinematic okay?

Obviously, if you're using GUI you cannot avoid the BJ's, because you are using the functions Blizzard pre-placed.

Just stay away from leaks and try to make your code as optimal as possible if using GUI.
