You do the pheonix fire thing by creating a weapon with the right flags and giving it to a unit. I forget the flags but you can figure it out.
If you want to test just take something like a immortal(nice cause very visible projectile) and play around with its weapon until it can move and fire...

I've noticed that when a player takes a really long time to load the game will kick him out.

ZugZug, your system does not appear to work, I am getting outputs of 3 and 2 digit numbers as well as multiple 0s.
Even in a non melee map, if the AI has a gold mine and such, the A.I should follow the rules assuming you ran the action to use melee A.I.
So there is something else going on there. Perhaps you could upload the map?
I am currently working on a map that has a series of rooms, each with 2 waygates, and 1 region on each waygate.
What I want to happen is at map init or shortly after, for about a third of the rooms to be linked together.

5 Dummy Abilities
5 Engineering Upgrades with Y levels where Y is the number of abilities you have.
When they pick a the Xst skill, set the level of the Xst engineering upgrade to the level corresponding to the ability chosen.
When you buy the item, it doesn't give the spell to the unit, it makes so the unit can learn the spell in the hero abilities tab.
That is what I am wondering how to do.

I've decided not to continue this map. Unfortunately it has reached a point where after some time wc3 will receive a fatal error. The map is far to big for me to ever isolate what it is causing it.
