how about pausing the player? could look a little bit bad but it will work.

if you change the owner remember this will make the unit lose all its current orders.

I wouldn't recommend pausing.. it also freezes all buffs cast on the unit .. which can potentially crash the game if some casted buffs are placed on the unit while it is paused

well then, change the owner. but the problem is how to change it back when the time has come. you could calculate the time your hero will nead to reach his target but what do you do if something is blocking his direct path?

i have made it in a way that it is detected when he reaches his target, and i'm sure i can pull out the previos owner out of a dummy
