A South Korean couple addicted to the Internet left their 3-month-old daughter to starve to death while they raised a virtual daughter online during 12-hour bouts at a cyber cafe, police said.

The husband and wife had been on the run since their baby, born prematurely, died five months ago of severe dehydration and malnutrition, police said. They were arrested this week near their home south of the capital Seoul and charged today with child abuse and neglect.

Police say the couple left their infant alone in their apartment and rushed back from the Internet cafe just once a day to feed her. South Korea's official Yonhap news agency first reported the arrests, quoting police.

I would have them starve in jail while the chefs play the "feed the prisoner" game on their computers, but then again I'm not the South Korean government.

What the hell. That's wack on way too many levels. It's really a sick story.
Some people should Just be sterilized. I hope all of these "scum parents" get what they deserve!

That's not right, if I lived in South Korea I would track them down and beat them to near death. After that starve them to death.

What I said may seem cruel but I wouldn't really I mean that figuritivly (for a lack of spelling skills).

God I hate people like this... So F*cking addicted to things... to even care about their children..

These kind of people should never be aloud to have / adopt kids... and be punished severely... Grrrr...

Like the post above me.. it may seem cruel, but its a necessary thing for them...

*sigh* These people are sick in the head... have a child... then leave it at home...
play games at internet cafe... and forget about raising their real child...

EDIT: The parents met on an internet game themselves... dammit... where did they find the time to have a child ? :(

Sure... easier to say it than to do it.

:)

That's a sad thing, but it's people.

South Korea have this "computer addiction" problem. About 80% of the population are affected.

Some people just deserve to die, it's unbelievable that it's up to some people to decide.

These kind of stories about bad parental really sickens me.

There should be much more heavier punishment for bad parental regulations.

Looks like Google fixed whatever mistake that made the recipes on the site go crazy and we are no longer trending towards a recipe site lol - I don't care though because it motivated me to spend alot of time on the site improving it and at least now the content people are looking at is not stupid and embarrassing like it was when I first got back into this like 5 years ago.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Plus - I have a pretty bad ass recipe collection now! That section of the site is 10 thousand times better than it was before

We now have a web designer at my job. A legit talented professional! I am going to get him to redesign the site theme. It is time.

I got one more day of community service and then I'm free from this nonsense! I polished a cop car today for a funeral or something I guess

They also were digging threw old shit at the sheriff's office and I tried to get them to give me the old electronic stuff, but they said no. They can't give it to people because they might use it to impersonate a cop or break into their network or some shit? idk but it was a shame to see them take a whole bunch of radios and shit to get shredded and landfilled

How come you're so into recipes lately? Never saw this much interest in this topic in the old days of TH.net

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am not big on the recipes I am just promoting them - I use the site as a practice place promoting stuff

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.
  • The Helper The Helper:
You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences
