Do you guys know if Bliz is gonna make one? (Like they did with Warcraft so that you can export as mdx from Max 5)

If yes, will it be for the newer versions of Max? I don't wanna keep on using Max 5 when the newest is 2009.

Do you really think they'd create one for 6 years old version of 3DS Max?

> With what we've seen Blizz doing so far, then yes, very likely.
Are you trying to be funny, or are you really stupid? =|

> And it's 9, not 6, years old.
Even better.

What do you think? (Since I know you will think #2, I'm going to tell you: it was (partly) a joke)

OK, srsly Vestras is not funny. Now, as far as I care the SE is going to have a model editing program build into it. As far as I have read it isn't going to need much talant of anything for you to make a cool looking model. Just creativity.

Would be nice for this to be more than a baseless rumor.

(by which I mean: tell us where you heard this) ;)

Hm... either from 1 of kingbdogz's SCII threads, or from the SCII Q&A's. Hope it helps :p

I really doubt there will be less talent needed. I also read similar articles, but they never said it will require less ability ;). I think it will be easier to create a proper model, with animations and everything, without all the hassle of importing, exporting and everything else that made the lives of the WCIII modelers a hell. It's impossible to ease the modeling process, except if you think at pre-made 'base' models, that you can modify. If you want to make a model from scratch it's impossible for that process to not require some talent and experience .

Don't dream at impossible things, really.

MY dreams are to edit models, mostly by adding new animations. in wc3 this is possible. In starcraft II shloud be easier. :p

Well... I don't know what is the difference between different model editors but there isn't much difference between PS and Gimp so no worries ;)

The difference with the model editors, in WCIII, was that they had different exporting extensions :p. Thus, it was harder to import them. PS and GIMP mostly export the same extensions.

However, 3D models are far more complicated than plain images, so the programs and the differences between them become as much as complicated.
