Buying a Car

Hey, I'm gonna get a car soon (like next year probably) and I was wondering, what's a good car to get?

I really want a nice car, but nothing that's like super overkill.

I don't really want to spend $100,000 on a car, but I don't want a piece of crap junker for like $100 >_<

Anyone have any good suggestions?

ANYTHING but a Mustang! Mustangs are total shit, they're far too mainstream now and the engines on them suck!
Both Mustangs and Corvettes are horrible, both in popularity and performance.

If you want a decent car that performs well and isn't too price, go for a Mazada RX8. The RX8 has kept up, or beat, a Lambo in many time tests.

And you can get a shitty one and work on it for a few years and get a lot of experience with cars.

The old ones are indeed pretty badass, but the new ones are nothing more than every other car with a different body that everyone thinks is badass. They run like trash, the handle like trash, they are trash.

Also, I don't much like Muscle cars.

ALso, DDR, I'm not getting a bike.

Though, I was thinking maybe a Nissan 2009 Z Coupe 370Z.

The RX8 looks really nice. $27, too.

Scion? I dunno, they never really appealed to me. Mazda, however, they were alright. I can look at some. I saw a video by Top Gear on the RX8 and it got a really good review for such a low priced car. (Compared to it's senior RX7)

Cars are for moving around, not luxury. Just get a car that fits your needs. If you live in a surburban area. get a casual car. If you feel like you need to show off. get a sports car. Its not rocket science. Ive seen people with crap houses and super nice cars. Others ive seen the opposite. Just remember

I don't know too much about cars, but my family got a Kia Cee'd and I'm going to ride it in a few days, because I'll get my license .

I've rode on it anyway (xD) and I can tell you that it's really good at handling and it's also very comfortable (good for long trips and... ehm... girlfriend-stuff ) and it's pretty good looking. Also, has a great stock sound system :thup:.

We got it for 12.000 euros, but not it's not the cheapest pack. It has some more features than the lowest one.

I'd go for a used car, I wouldn't really recommend buying a new car you really want as your first. A lot of people do that out here and end up wrecking, sideswiping, rearending, ect other things/cars. Learn to drive first, get comfortable behind the wheel, and then buy the car you really want.

Save the money and buy a house if you don't already own one! Or at least something that will appreciate. Geez, just getting your license and in the market for a USD$30K car. I don't even want to imagine what your insurance will cost in a 2-door sport coupe!! But if you really have the money, umm or access to it, then I guess an argument can be made to spend it to keep the economy stimulated :thup:. As the saying goes: you can't take your money with you (i.e. when you die)

For me since I live in Canada where roads are covered in snow for 30-50% of the year, which means sportscars aren't really practical as a main car, I wanted something comfortable and kind of sporty but with all wheel drive. Subarus look funny to me so a couple of weeks ago I grabbed a Ford Fusion Sport -a midsize family sedan with attitude (rawr)- I did a lot of research and Ford is actually making decent cars now. For the longest time they were just about Mustangs and F150 pickups and police cars. Ford Sync is really cool too, although it's really only worth a few hundred bucks. Amazing integration with cell phones and music devices. Powered by Microsoft™

Btw here's a review of the 370Z (I like that site. Yes they made a typo in the URL but that's the car.) What do they suggest at the end? ... A Mustang.

New Camaro, or the new Challenger. Or maybe Pontiac GTO, the new ones are reallly nice and fast as hell. Or Audi S5, or RS4. Or Infiniti G37S.

Hmm. I dunno about the GTO :-/ The new ones, to me, look really bad XD I liked the older ones. Really, the only Muscle car that appealed to me.

So... is it your first car?
If it is, and you get a nice car, the car most likely won't have any problems. In it being your first car, that's not exacty a good thing. Getting a not-so amazing car might have problems, from where you would be forced to learn to how to fix it. So, after that, you can get a nice car, and still have valauble skills for life if something happens to your future cars.
