lol dude i have the answer to your problem.
1) go to this link and copy all the text into a .txt file.

2) (ONLY IF YOUR GOING TO BE PLAYING ONLINE, IF NOT SKIP THIS STEP) press ctrl + f (find) and type in 'seta name' then type in the name your going to be using.

3) make the .txt file into a .cfg file. (in case extensions don't show up for your files, open up any folder and press on Organize > Folder and Search options > View > uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types).

4) finally go open up the game and continue your mission or whatever (must be in-game not on the menu/screen or you will crash) and open up the console by pressing the ~ (to enable console go to options) and type in the following commands in order as follows:

/exec yitch3.cfg
/vid_restart

Even though the graphics wont be that great, your fps will surely increase, reducing the lag.
I hope this helps..

PS: Don't forget to update your graphics driver

highly suggest using yitch3 config, really increase your fps if you have a slightly bad graphic card.

Before you go to the store I suggest taking a check over at www.canyourunit.com
And check what fails when you are trying to run cod4

I am actually thinking about that it might be your cpu that fails

Processor: 2.6ghz Pentium IV or equivalent (3.2ghz recommended for Vista)

Since you have a 1.6Ghz dual you can count it at about 2.2Ghz if you sum it up, but you will be more on a straight 2Ghz since the cpus actually lose some when you have more than one

Actually, I can use this methods, since I deleted my CoD4 because of the issue above.


I'll try this and report back after I finish with my installation of CoD4.

I have a similar graphiccard and CoD4 runs with 980 fps at lowest quality.

Checked your internet connection? It´s speed might feel smooth while browsing web pages, but a multiplayer game requires updates all the freagin time
(You probably know lolz)

Even if you had the best graphics card, the max fps you could get is around 200-350 though with quality and resolution decreased. But 980? Lol lies

you guys realize that monitor's don't display past 120 frames per second, right? and 99% of them only display 60 frames per second.. so anything beyond what your monitor can do is just a waste of electricity..
