General George Lucas wants to put Dead Actors in new Movies

STAR Wars creator GEORGE LUCAS has been buying the film rights to dead movie legends to put them together on screen.

British funnyman MEL SMITH - a pal of Lucas - said the sci-fi icon planned to use computer wizardry to show dead actors alongside each other for the first time.

It could mean screen greats such as SIR ALEC GUINESS appearing with the likes of JAMES DEAN and MARILYN MONROE.

Ex-Not The Nine O'Clock News star Mel, 58, who directed Lucas's 1994 film Radioland Murders, said Lucas was "obsessed" with computer-generated imagery.

whats the point of this? i dont understand. you have fully capable actors that are alive...

and im not sure i wanna see his new movies after seeing him rape indiana jones. (unless its another star wars)
 
The point of it is the idea of Marilyn Monroe. No one will ever be another. And James Dean. No one will ever be another.

Etc, etc.
 
Movies like Notorious and 2Pac Resurrection worked well, why not?

not really - it seems normal to me that if person X dies and has a house, person Y can buy the rights to said house, now just replace house with say music they composed or a well-established identity, it works the same - why are good actors paid a lot of $$? for their identity, same thing here
 
Something about this just seems.... wrong.

Digitally recreating dead actors? Don't get me wrong, it'd be great to pick up a movie after an actor dies (Dark Knight, anyone?), but at the same time it takes away from their legacy. All great things must come to an end, after all.

    Yeah Tom, me too sorry for your loss buddy my mom told me she finds out her olds friend died from Google searching them. She had not talked to one of her old friends in a year and found out she died from Google. Also another one in the same session. RIP all of them my sincere condolences Tom

    We have some elderly guests that regularly come hang out at the bar at the end of the night, and every once in a while we don't see someone for a few weeks and then someone shows up with their obituary.

    We usually let them do their memorials there in the morning if they want to and I'll make them some snacks and drinks. There was one guy named Tom that came in like every night and would sit by himself and get a bunch of soup and a glass of wine. idk why but he LOVED our fucking soup, like he would order a fucking quart of it at a time and would always get so sad when we stop doing it for the summer.

    He was just such a sweet old man, we had two servers pregnant and they held a baby shower together, he was soooooo fucking excited to get to see a baby. Unfortunately he died a month or so before they were born

    So I decided to Google some people that I had not seen or heard from in a while and sure enough one of my old best friends, we had a falling out years ago but whatever, find out he died of Pancreatic Cancer in January. I have also lost a few of my closer acquaintances from growing up the last year. Getting old - people die - I kinda thought it was going to be this way a few years ago....
