How would one make this?

Graphics is not my forte. At all.

I have Photoshop CS3, but I haven't bothered working with it.

But how would one make something like this? The font is great, does anyone know the name? And how do you apply a gradient like that in the text? And how would you make a gradient like that shown in the silver bar, and small black bar?

As you can see I have no knowledge of image editing, sans a few uses like the magic wand tool.

To get selections like the black bar you use the pen tool

Use the Blend or Gradient tool to get gradients. Set the mode to linear (if you are prompted, it should be there by default) so you get just two colors. You can also do an Alpha to selection on the text layer (which you should keep to a separate, transparent layer to add effects) and then use the gradient tool to make a gradient just in the text.

And, as you should know, this will take practice, so don't start too hard and have fun screwing around with it to get a feel for it.

No clue, http://www.dafont.com has many fonts though that you can get though.

That font is pretty generic and it's going to be hard to get the EXACT one. =/

For gradient text, I usually right-click the text layer and select Blending Options.

Otherwise, Rastersize the layer (layer options), select the letters and apply a gradient.

(I'd still use Blending Options for glows, outlines and bevels).

You can draw something, put it on top of a layer. And when you apply a clipping mask, you can only see the drawing inside the layer.
