This error has been fixed already. I forgot to add that.

It is possible that the triggering hero carries multiple letters.

I kept contracting a loan then bought like 50 heroes. I think you should fix that because it seems very unfair.

One of the errors you mentioned has been fixed in a newer version already; You can now hire only 1 hero of the same type.

Also, I'll increase the Stock Replenishment Interval of the Loan, and the gold cost of the additional heroes.

Thank you very much.

Okay, another thing. I killed a citizen because he trapped me in. So BLUE (computer) attacked me the ENTIRE length of the game. So I am forever comdemned over 1 peon? Maybe after a couple days, they should lay off. Or maybe you can have a wanted level, like GTA3.

I'm apologize that I replied to this message to late. This post was added on the end of the page, so I didn't know of it.

Of course, this is only in Single Player. In Multi-Player, the City's Defenses decide how long to condemn you.

Killing a peon is not a minor crime, of course.

Fortunately, the City's Defenses, as well as the other forces, are initially rather weak. You can overthrow them in Single Player easily.

Also, the Hero Description error has now been fixed.

I'm most concerned about the Computer AI in the Single Player mode. How can I efficiently make the major forces train troops and engage eachother?

Please help.

Some minor detail:
The "healing potion recipe" says: "this perkament scroll".
Should be "g", not "k" I guess.

Lt Derek (Denek? Dernek?) "kill bandits or undead...".
Well, I did kill a couple bandits and went back... nothing noticeable happened.

Selecting "tealweed" shows a rather strange picture.

Right next to where I started, I found a Glyph of Omniscience...
Makes exploration rather simple, rather quickly.

On the first version posted here, I bought a house.
Since then, I have this rather memorable screenshot with me on one side of the door,
and the "key" on the other, with the door, obviously, still closed.
Impossible to open...
Didn't try in this latest version.

Heh. In my language, "pergament" is spelled "perkament". I rarely saw it spelled "pergament" in English, probably because I perceived it incorrectly.

Unfortunately, these graphical errors can't be fixed, I fear.

Some dislike black mask, and some do not, as I said to SD_Ryoko when he commented the huge, unexplored area. You do not have to use the Glyphs of Omniscience.

Neither perkament or pergament are in the english dictionary.

Perhaps you mean permanent.

Yes, IMO exploring a map sucks. We always turned it off for AOE, and in WC3 melee you can at least see the landscaping and paths, dark as it may be.

Maybe in an RPG or campaign where 'exploring' is a key factor, but finding your way around a detailed city takes too much effort on my end.

No, we mean "parchment" :)

For Mind:
It's possible to get into the city without passing the main gate.
(Death & Resurrection)
If you then pass the gate, you still get "this must be ..." :)

The mini icon (unit selection) of the Warlock doesn't look like it's him.

Can you get any farms?
Upper left corner, Troll Enslaver, of which you can't hire a "Kobold Tunneler"
because he needs 2 food...
Even worse, I bought a Furbolg and an Ogre (in that order)
and the Furbold was trapped... no room to move out from there...

Same for the "Black Dragon Roost" further up,
requires food too...

When I had this Warlock on lvl 6 (Metamorphosis),
he was, actually, flying very low... at belly to ground :)

In the middle of the map (more or less), there's a wizard
that gateway-teleports you to an area nearby...
As a dragon, you can simply fly there...

What's the purpose of these two step-on-me switches,
upper right from center (left and right from a largish fountain)?

Revival, in the Quest menu, says:
"...after 30 seconds...".
It's more like 5 only :)

I'll order the hero which nears the trap to stop automatically.

These errors have been fixed yet. Mercennaries no longer require food.

They raise certain elevators near the Fortress of the City's Defenses.

Whoo, nice. That is a map that seems to have been actually worked on--unlike the majority of mappers in battle.net v_v

Anyway, have you fixed that selection bug yet (very beginning when describing units, you know)? Perhaps I could take a look at the code.

Is there an "If Computer" condition of sorts? Because if you want to solve your problem of "constantly summoning units and engaging them", you can simply make a unit spawn for the Computers and set waypoints or simple AI to have them battle at specific parts--like AoS. But, if there's an If Computer trigger, you can allow the player to be either a computer or a battle-net person, and I believe that's what you said you were aiming at. I'll look if there is one, but perhaps I should try getting some tools to write one. Dad highly supports this kind of stuff :)

Basically, make a unit-summoning building but the computer won't use it--only fighting with auto spawns that only stay active when the "player" is a computer.

Ok good. I thought I saw something when I visited the trigger library (I don't dabble in that sort though) but I wasn't fully sure :)

And yes, there probably is a trigger like that. A long, long time ago I recall playing a scenario even on the original Warcraft III (if I remember correctly) that had a trigger to remove computers from the game. Used the identify and defeat so they wouldn't mess up the game.

The players controlled by a computer now have decent Artificial Intelligence.

Not anymore; The Artificial Intelligence works fine.

Your name is mentioned in the credits for beta-testing my level and writing the "Item Combiner" Script Code for me. Thanks again.

By the way, I strongly recommend to release the "Item Combiner" Script Code.

I'm concerned about the fact that the beta-version of my level is unprotected. I cannot imagine that someone would be cruel, sadistic and insane enough to attempt to crush four months of very hard work, but I do not consider it as impossible at all.

I will release the newest version of Life in Lordaeron very soon.

that was the end of the trigger

Ummm Mind I think you better delete that link to your map. It's nnot protected. I checked it out because you said you feared that it wasn't protected.

Another small misintepretation; I said that I was concerned about the fact that my map was unprotected. This meant that I knew this already.

Let me first begin by saying that this is a very tight project. I spent a few hours last night playing it, and so far the only other thing I've spent that sort of time with were Blizzard's campaigns!

That said, I came up with a few things that I thought I'd bring to your attention. (And just so you know, I did download it from the most recent link)

- In the tip at the start of the game, which describes how bank-robbing works, "Adjacent" is misspelled ("Adjectant")

- I read earlier in this thread that you were going to attempt to make certain items stack in the Hero's inventory. I couldn't find any items in the game that did this. Meat, torches, herbs, etc. all required a new slot to be picked up.

- In game text messages, "Major" is frequently misspelled "Mayor".

Those were really all the technical things I found issue with. There were a few points on gameplay, however, that I thought merited attention:

- The description of job duties is rather vague, and I had a difficult time understanding what some of them were for. (Also, I suspect a few may be bugged) The most ready example of this that I can think of is the job the Cook gives:

I assumed (after a bit of thinking) that I was supposed to bring the Cook various herbs and whatnot; however, by the end of the game, there was quite a large pile of Savory Herbs at his feet. I don't know if those things were supposed to automatically disappear from my inventory (like in the Researcher's Assistant job, which works perfectly), but if that is the case, then they didn't.

Basically, many of the jobs could use some clarification. The "Escort the Packhorses" job, for instance, stumped me. A minimap ping at the location to which I was supposed to bring them would have helped greatly. To recap, here are the "jobs" I couldn't figure out:

*the Cook's Assistant job
*the Demon Remains Researcher (Apprentice Wizard by a way-gate near Town's entrance): Is one supposed to bring "Bones" to him? If so, it doesn't work; if not, then what?
*Escort the Pack Horses
*Lieutenant Dernek's Monster Rewards (I never got a dime from him)

I'm sure there were others. I took notes when I remembered, but I must say that it's pretty engrossing :thumbs up:

Another thing: I think you ought to put a cap on the number of Heroes you can hire from the Tavern. I can't find the screenshot, but I had a squad made up of 4 Pit Lords and 8 Dark Rangers. I think 5 heroes at the most should be more than enough.

There's an area on the map that's basically a free EXP treadmill: I air-lifted my Weaponsmith via Gyrocopter into the little mage base in the left-middle of the map, and plopped him in the Circle of Power (near the spear-trap pit, which is excellent, by the way). I had him forge 3 Mithril Swords and 2 Mithril Shields and put an Orb of Darkness on him, and left him there.

In about 20 minutes, he had 3 levels. Maybe there should be a cutoff? Maybe the triggers are different in multiplayer? I don't know. Just making sure you're aware.

Overall, this is an excellent map. If it's tightened up a little further, I predict it will be extremely sucessful. I know I intend to play it again and try out all the different classes.

You've certainly proven that you're exceptionally good at this. Congratulations.

Well the only problem besides that is the horrifying lag. My computer may be fast, but I'm not sure it, or anybody else's could ever hope to play this efficiently--like the WoW map. Still, I also think Mind has done a wonderful job.

Some of the quests foreshadow some that you take in Runescape, but that doesn't really matter.

Speaking of which, maybe I should try a Runescape map. It'll take a little while to get all of the cool details, but it's possible. The graphics in Runescape are worse than Warcraft III--they just converted to 3d a year ago.

Runescape has a knack for making your life a livving hell. Quests are so firggin far apart it's not even funny. You have to run back and forth back and forth just to maybe make some wepaons or something. Sooooooo annoying.Mines are set next to anvils and furnaces are a mile awya. So to make a weapon, you need to mine some ores then go down to the furnace and melt them then ome BACK up and forge them.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
