Hi er, its not really a problem but is there a way to open up two maps at the same time in WE?

Because I'm trying to move custom units from one of my maps to the other and it only allows 1 map at a time so it takes a long time to do it...

This is possible. simply open one map then the other. Go into Window->Name of your map.

A different way is to select the unit in the object editor, hit Control + C, go into your other map, object editor, then hit Control + V. Voila. Hope that helps! ^^

I know, that was how I was doing it (The Ctrl+c and ctrl+v thing) but I have like 25 units, 22 abilities and 10 upgrades...

and um, when I try opening 1, the other just dissapears... thats the problem...

There is no good way to do it if you have stuff on both maps.

The other does not disappear. It is simply hidden. Just look to the top of the screen and hit the "Window" Tab. There, you will find all maps that have been opened so far.

And the fact that you have so many....well i cant help ya there.

yeah i know what you mean..if you import you erase everything.

Anyone know a good way of doing so with multiple triggers ( not a hijack..a simliar Q) transfer from 1 map to another...a method more efficient than copy/paste 1 by 1
????

As has been said already, you can open two (or more) maps at once, and switch from on to the other with the "window" menu.
It still takes some time to actually get to the other map, but it certainly beats closing and reopening them constantly.

For triggers, put them all in one category, and copy & paste the entire category.
Make sure to have a check on "auto create unknown variables", somewhere in file / preferences.

In the object editor: File > Export Unit Data (Don't know exact)
the open the other map and do File > Import Unit Data
In the trigger editor: Move all to one folder and CTRL + C / V

EDIT: Oops, ace beat me to it.

Well, export / import is certainly the fastest.
But, it overwrites anything you may already have in the second map...

Note: triggers can be exported (and imported) too.
Same deal though, it overwrites all existing triggers...

What might be even faster, is saving map 1 with a new name, and just use it.
Remove the stuff you don't need anymore...
Well, it all depends on what exactly you already have in map 2 :p
