Silhouette help

is there any to make silohette(in case my spelling is bad, a sillohette is a picture of you but completely black) without doing it manually(using the brush tool and coloring it)? if nt it's okay, i was just wondering. I do have photoshop.

If its a render:
take your render layer. Right click it in the layers pallette. Select blending options. In the box that pops up select Color Overlay in the left panel. Double click on the red square and select black. Hit ok and your done.

If it is an image with a background, you have to make a selection with the pen tool. If you're cheap, you can try the magic wand, but it rarely works.
