Walking on Water?

Hi im looking for a way to make it so my units can walk on deep water...i tried making a region and when the unit entered to make it fly at the height of 1...but that didnt seem to work.

Events
Unit Enters Region

Conditions
Unit is a Hero

Actions
Set unit flying height to height and rate

The above is what I did and it doesn;t work, so could someone help me out?

The "Set unit flying height" trigger only works for flying-type units. You cannot make a unit fly unless it already has that movement.
What you can do is create a copy of that unit and set the copy's movement type to flying, then use a trigger to replace the original with the copy when they enter the deep water region.

If there's a specific unit you want to be able to walk on water, and there's no other unit of that type on the map/ you don't mind having every other unit of that type on the map be able to walk on water also, find the unit type that the specific unit is in the Object Editor and scroll down until you find "Movement- Type." Double click on that and change the option displayed there to "Amphibious."

If there are other units of the same type that you don't want to be able to walk on water, create a new custom unit based off of whatever unit you're using now and then simply do as I said above, changing the custom unit's movement type to "Amphibious."

That ought to do it.

k ty both of u....umm (sorry didnt read names) 1st guy, u mean create a dummy unit?

Maybe you can do somethin' with Stone Crow form. That gives a unit Flight.

Yeah but im trying to make em look like they're walking on water. Ty though.

So? Make them fly at a height of 0 or 1.

Crow Form only gives a unit flight if they cast the ability. Adding and removing it lets you change their Height value through triggers, but it does not give them the flight movement type, so therefore they can't move over deep water.

couldnt you jsut make their movement type amphibious? that makes them walk on water...

ooops nevermond... lol didnt see that it was for specific places...

Illidan (Evil) can walk on water in the last campaign map for the night elves (TFT), maybe you can base your unit from him?

If there isnt much water u can use Dead Invis Platforms and raise them when a hero is neer
