I'm pretty sure he has been -repped. Though, I don't know if any of the people that have done it are around anymore....

I don't see why someone would be stupid enough to -rep the site owner. :p

Well, I would think it's in response for something TH did to that person's posts. Either way, not a good idea.

Rofl... Tonks -repped TH once, I think it was because TH was spamming or being an idiot or something. Or Tonks had a bad day or something so he did something brave to calm his day. :p

I forgot, Tonks said that somewhere.

Its hard to not get negative repped at some point. We all make mistakes or have bad days. :)

Though Im sure people see The Helper and assume that if they -rep him they will instantly be 'bad ass'.

Indeed. I don't think that there is any user around that hasn't been -repped at least once for a good reason. Even TH.

True, I've been -repped twice by admins .

Still, even if TH didn't delete his -reps, I don't see what -repping him achieves =P..

Well, statistically, a few (thousand) negative or positive reputation points, for administrators, won't make any difference - they can adjust it themselves as they see suitable.

/.../

However, it's not really about the amount of reputation, it's the message behind it.

A (e.g)rep worth of 5 positive points is worthless, if the comment field is blank, to me.

So is a negative 1 repute pointless, if it only yells at me telling I suck(*).

To conclude, it's all about the comment, message behind the repute. If one can explain why he gave me repute, no matter, positive or negative, I have no concerns.

(*)Usually, "u suc", "u sux!!1".

TH once said that a new member -repped him with the message "lol".
He didn't delete it, but instead responded by giving that member -10 and the message "lol back". :p

That's funny. I used to get negative rep a lot when I was a younger member. I'm a noob that way. D=

I believe I saw something funny a while ago... Some guy who said: Any off-topic comments in my thread are going to be -rep'd!

Fact is, the thread was about a WEU error, and he didn't want people to discuss the WEU itself (and its downsides as well as its upsides) but his errors, discuss his problem and how to solve it.

AceHart came in, explained a few things and fix his problem and stuff while explaining to him why he shouldn't use WEU in that case.

And the guy -rep'd him with the "enforces WE vs WEU discussion" comment... :p Well, at least it said something like that.

It was... especially funny. In fact, Ace solved his problem if I recall correctly ;)

-----

But I'm getting off-topic!

I never got a -rep from TH nor did I see anyone -rep'ing him!

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
