Ok.. so today was the first day ive been in an apple store (i went with my dad). I went in, and it was all nice and clean with silver tiles everywhere, and everyone there was a mac person, it was awkward since i was probably the only PC in the whole store. But, they had pretty good customer service,, apple really dont mess around when it comes to customer service, they had like 5 "geniuses" that knew all about the apple products, it was nice, to say the least, made me want to buy a mac

Same, the apple store in my area is packed all the time. I waited such a long time to find out that the computer I wanted wasn't in stock. =\

Honestly, with their prices they better have some damn good customer service.

Apple is incredibly over-priced

I went to the mall and visited a mac store, picked up a few cords i needed for a project.

I decided to shop around, went to radio shack and they sold the same cords for 1/3 the price.

It may have been the particular store, but the questions i asked weren't getting answers. They had to pull 4 people out of the back room till somebody knew what they were doing.

Although i did find it very neat that they carried around little devices that synced with a nearby concealed printer.

I was quite amused when my receipt popped out from under the table next to me. :p

i guess apple stores in virginia arnt that packed, it was about six and we got in on the waiting list at number 2, they had macs set up so you can screw around while you wait.

It was like apple mania >.>

The name tag was like a necklace with some kind of ipod shape thing attached to it, and it had their name
We went to the concierge to sign up for the waiting list, and he pulled out an ipod and clicked a some buttons and said, ok you're in >.>
Like i said, the apple store had a futuristic feel.
I could have sworn the customer service lady was about to ask, are you a mac or pc?

...We don't have Apple stores here. The closest we have is an Apple "booth" in our Bestbuy thats pretty much just a few Macs set up to look at and a giant Apple Statue thing...

Yeah, the Apple Store is a bit of a puzzler to me. At my local one, the shops next to the Apple Store have 10 or so shoppers in at any given time, while the Apple Store has 4x that. It can be a struggle to move at the back of the shop near the counter. Otherwise it's quite neat, they have decent selection of games for sale there and the latest desktop Macs for you to mess around with.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
