adding an effect on unit which dies

Hello,

In my tower defense I got a mine tower which must do the next:

Every time that the mine tower kills a unit, this unit must leave a mine at that location
After 3 seconds the mine will explode and deals some area damage

I got about the same plan for the slow tower, when this tower kills a unit, then this unit must slow nearby targets for a short period

Does anyone knows what I mean and how I can fix this?

Basically when your weapon deals damage, you need it to also apply a buff which lasts only 0.0625 seconds (replace you damage effect with a set effect which applies this buff and deals the damage). You can then use the damage response property on this buff to create the mine if the unit dies.

If your still interested in doing this, let me know and I can provide a step by step solution on how to set this up correctly.

I already create the effect but for some reason it's not working:

event: any unit dies
condition: killing unit is mine tower
action: add 1 behavior mine on triggering unit

Is this not working because the 'triggering unit' is already dead?

Not with a trigger... With the weapon, you need to use an effect of type "Apply Behavior" that adds a behavior. And then you do as Dave explained..
