World Boy, 14, banned from school for moustache but father says he's too young to shave

Do you guys dislike authority? Ok so the school smashed down the banhammer. So? you think thats tough? ya well, so is life, is called tough love. You cant support him just blatantly disregarding what the school tells him to do, life isnt like that, so you get told to do something you dont like, you are OBLIGATED to do it because it is the authority in your life.

I.E. your parents tell you to... water the garden, and you dont do it, and they (insert punishment), thats the same thing here, if he doesnt follow his schools wishes, he probably does the same with his parents

Honestly, quit being foolish. It is just a mustache, do you honestly think you should be banned from something happening that you cannot control? If he doesn't want to shave, he shouldn't be forced to shave regardless of the school's dress code rule. I honestly don't think having a little mustache could harm the school's reputation whatsoever. Also, the school should honestly be a little less anal over their dress-code policy. I know its life and there is the cause and effect deal, but for f**ks sakes, don't make a big deal over stupid shit, there's bigger things to worry about.

I suggest you come spend a week or two in the UK. Many of the Haircutting places around here are only capable of one style, and that's what this guy appears to have.

Tough love is punishing someone to ensure they do not do something which will bring harm to them or so they do not commit a crime. If this is tough love, it is teaching that having a moustache is wrong. Which it isn't!

Clearly we can. Most of us have. Why? The school is fucking stupid, that's why. This kid is right to disagree with it's dress code. A mustache is fine.

Heh, that's funny. Obligated to listen to authority... If people actually were obligated the listen to authority, India would not be a country. The British were the authority. They told Gandhi to stop trying to establish home rule in India. If he had been obligated the listen to the authority, he would have stopped. He didn't. India exists. That's just one example of why your statement is bullshit. More can be found easily, by taking out a history textbook and learning about the creation of most (But not all) countries. We are not obligated to listen to authority. There are just usually consequences if we don't. We still have a choice to listen or not.

Err... His parents support him in keeping the mustache. He's not disobeying his parents, he is keeping with their ideas that he can have one. Just because you disobey one authority doesn't mean you ignore them all.

But if he chooses to disagree, he loses another right - the right to remain in school.

Ioannes is right. Whatever rules the school has come up with, the student has to follow them to be allowed the right to study there.

How stupid the rules are is another matter entirely, however.

    We have some elderly guests that regularly come hang out at the bar at the end of the night, and every once in a while we don't see someone for a few weeks and then someone shows up with their obituary.

    So I decided to Google some people that I had not seen or heard from in a while and sure enough one of my old best friends, we had a falling out years ago but whatever, find out he died of Pancreatic Cancer in January. I have also lost a few of my closer acquaintances from growing up the last year. Getting old - people die - I kinda thought it was going to be this way a few years ago....
