Computer Monitor Reading Old Game Systems

So, I have lots of old game consoles that I want to hook up to my computer monitor.
(X-box, Gamecube, Nintendo64, Super Nintendo)

Heres the question (As I am clueless on most of this and how it works :( )

Can I connect any of these systems to my computer monitor (or my computer graphics card, if needed)? What do I need?

You obviously can't connect them directly, unless they have a DSUB/DVI connector (Xbox maybe?).

The best way to proceed is to check if they all share a common video-out and buy an adapter for that one. If all consoles have a SCART connector, buy a SCART-to-DSUB or SCART-to-DVI converter.

Such converters aren't exactly cheap thou. Better use a TV.

If you have the composite out, heres what you do.
You get a video capture card and install it.
Stick the video out into it and then get a sound composite 2 to mic output thing.
Place the 2-1 thing into your mic jack. Make sure you have the needed software to recieve from the vid capture card and it should work.
It does for me.

Mind if you could point out any reccomendations on what I should buy, look for something specific, or what you use?
